*"Replace the leaves with tentacles....."
Yeah, perhaps that will work better. :)
I´ll try your settings and see how things turn out. Thanks man.
I think it also has something to do with the C4D-obj´s im putting into it. I´ll try some Bryce-models instead.

Quote - Is it possible to replace the Ivy .PNGs with other leaf pictures?
It works just fine. I´ve tried with a few different leaf-types.

Quote - **...to wrap the stuff AROUND your meshes
**-I Had that same problem, until I started clicking that "Flip Normals" button before double-clicking on my mesh to grow. After that, it did the right thing and only grew along the outside of the mesh. ;o)
Yep, tried that. Didn´t look anything close to yours though, just a few random branches.
Care to share some settings? :)

Clay, you should do the right thing and get a PC.
How the heck do you guys manage to wrap the stuff AROUND your meshes. My attempts only result in stuff growing here and there, and never along the mesh...

Thread: ICQ uses be aware. | Forum: Bryce
That really sucks, but are you really sure it´s ICQ causing this?
I ask, because i know for a fact that MSN Messenger open up doors for all sorts of garbage, including a few nasties that will use your machine for sending out spam.
I´ve lost count on how much crap i´ve had to remove from my wifes machine, and all of it came through messenger. I personally don´t use it, so i don´t have that problem. :)
With ICQ on the other hand, i´ve never had any problems, and i´ve used it since 1997
.
Windows safety has never worked as intended and unfortunatly Vista is no exception, so it´s more or less pointless having it running other than for using resources.
As for AVG, it´s free, but sadly you also get exactly what you pay for. A guy at work has a bad habit of installing that program(despite my warnings), and apart from never ending error messages,(boot errors, missing dll-files etc), it slows down the machines.
If you have the chance, you should really try out Nod32 instead. You wont even notice when it´s working, and it blocks any file that has the characteristics of a virus.

Thread: 3D World Magazine #87 - Bryce Q&A Scenefile | Forum: Bryce
Congrats pal. Some great work there. The lighting and materials really kick butt.
Quote - a lot of time is spent condensing words to get it under the limit.
Yep, sounds very familiar. The same procedure goes for multi-pagers. And it´s always amazing how much info you eventually can squeeze in with only a few sentences. :)
Quote - How do people get their works or articles published in a magazine like 3D World? Are they approached by the editors or someone sends the editors an email with sample work and saying "I wrote a nice article, would you like to publish it?"
If you have something that might be interesting for a mag, you should send the stuff in. If they like it, there´s a big chance they´ll want to publish it.
Personally i´ve almost always been contacted by the editors of a mag whenever they wanted something, but on a few occasions i´ve just sent in some images for a magazines showcase galleri, and got a job offer in return.
Let them know you exist. Send a few images and/or a gallery link, and ask if they´re interested in publishing them. Anything can work.

Thread: Possible (frightening) change in copyright laws - Could affect us | Forum: Bryce
Guess i´ll bring back my maximized semi-transparent tags all over the images. Either that or post images in much smaller resolutions.
Both of these options would make any image pointless or hopeless to use for printing.
Sad, but most likely necessary in the end.
Can´t help beeing a little curious though. If this law comes through, it will probably kill pretty much all online galleries. Where would the thiefes steal images after that?
Wouldn´t be that surprised to see the next idiotic law allowing them to break into peoples homes, stealing their computers...

Thread: 200 day render??? HEEEELLLLLLPPP!!!!! | Forum: Bryce
Just be careful when using resizing tools. You may end up with an end result looking like something shot with a cheap digital camera. These softwares have a tendency to take away the sharpness in an image.

Yeah, agreed, even a 4200x6000 can be overkill, but normally i rather render stuff out larger than necessary. That way i can up the size of the print if needed, without having to re-render the stuff.
Safety precaution. :).
