Umm.. you can't quite do that.. To get a similar effect once, I just rendered a scene with the person, at full visibility, then rendered the scene without the person. Then I brought them both into Photoshop, used the one without the figure as the bottom layer, and put the one with the figure as a higher layer, and set it to 50% transparency. Came out exactly how I wanted it. =) I'm guessing you could also use PSP or whatever, as long as it's got layers. Good luck. Rosh

Those are beautiful textures you've got on him. And he just looks great. Dwarf, right? I have absolutely no doubt that your final image will just be amazing. =) Rosh

Sometimes it's hard. The lips can be isolated materialwise... just zoom in really far, then ctrl-click and choose different parts till the lips highlight. =) As for the spheres, well, I'd say it's something to do with the poser export... There's always the option of creating spheres to replace those, though that's really a pain. Either way, you still did a great job considering how much of a pain both programs can be at times. =) Rosh

Hey, I think he looks cool. I like the wrench too. Why's the poser one have a mouthpiece, but the bryce one doesn't? I think he'd have looked better in Bryce if you'd kept the glowing eye, too. All in all, he looks great. =) Rosh

Thanks.. now that you mention it, you're right. I'd completely forgotten about that show. =) Rosh
Thread: Dbs challenge WIP: Almost there... | Forum: Challenge Arena
Thanks for the input CB.. I'll probably just drop it.. I noticed that when I added the lens flare, the faceplate became harder to see... though I did like the effect, I'd rather have him stand out. =) Rosh

I just got caught up in what I was doing. It happens sometimes... This time its mostly because I haven't had a challenge in over a month. =) Plus, I really liked this challenge. Thanks. =) Rosh

He still looks great. Didn't mean to be nitpicking. I use Rhino for morphing, and don't do much of that these days.. Thanks for the link. =) Keep this up, they really do look wonderful. =) Rosh

Yeah, now that I think of it, I remember something like Tolkein's orcs were perverted versions of elves or something similar.. that's what this guy looks like, an elf from hell. =) Yeah, morphing is a pain.. what do you use to morph? (And what's Morph Mirror?) Rosh

Wow! That looks really good... Can't wait to see the end result. I can barely see his hair against the gray, so I can't really comment on the transmap. =) Perhaps he could be a tinge greener? Just a possibility. Awesome detail on the face and eyes especially. =) All in all, very impressive. =) Rosh

Ick... I'm FINALLY back online.. not all my apps are loaded back yet (had to reinstall windows) but for the most part I'm up and running. Sorry it took so long.. the people we ordered my parts from took forever to ship it, so we eventually just canceled the order and found another company that did it in one day. Go figure. =) Rosh (not gonna be doing much 3d for a while... Diablo 2's got my attention!) =) Rosh

I got it from Metacreations.. you might have to get it from Adobe now, but try at Meta first. Just look for Bryce updates. There's only one for Bryce 4. =) Rosh

The patch fixes a few things.. I installed it immediately, and forgot to read exactly what it does, but I have a tendency to install patches automatically. Rosh

Haha... Clay, it's not a Bryce bug.. it's a user thing. Yeah, I've wandered off while making a scene, ending up with something completely different. Doesn't happen much anymore since I usually have what I'm making firmly in mind when I begin, but you never know when an idea will strike or something will work better as something else. =) Rosh
