I set my preview window to a proportional representation of my screen size and then set my render dimensions to match that. This gives me a preview window that I know represents my screen dimensions. Typically I would work with an 800x600 preview window for standard screen sizes and then on render change this to my actual screen resolution (1024x768 for example).
I now have a wdescreen monitor with a resolution of 1440x900 so I set my preview window to 720x450 and then render at 2160x1350 72dpi, save as a png then go into a graphic manipiulation prgoram and carry out any Postwork I need with my final step being reducing to my actual screen resolution before saving as a jpeg.
Thread: V4 morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Victoria 4.1 has to be installed into the Poser Runtime rather than an external Runtime and there could be something you missed along the way.
There is a full FAQ with lots of information about the newest V4 version at:
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=57553&highlight=victoria+++installation
I daresay the answer to your problem lies in there somewhere.
I know when I installed the Creature Morphs and the Muscle Morphs I simply ran the desktop updater which was installed with V4 and I haven't had any problems using the morphs when I've injected them.

Could have been a temporary glitch, I just tried it now and it is downloading fine for me from:

Same here, I load the Runtimes I need when I need them and only open Poser with my P6 and P7 Runtimes in place and as there is very little in those it loads in a flash.

Yes you do have to [pay for a security certificate which is why a lot of small, independent Poser sites will only accept payments via Paypal rather than credit or debit cards direct through the site - Paypal chages are significantly lower than paying for the necessary certifiation for an SSL.
Thread: Any Gamers Use Poser...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not a gamer but I live with two complete and utter addicts.
The brat is currently swapping and changing between Eternal Sonata and Enchanted Arms or firing his ancient laptop up and playing Maple Story online.
The other half is playing Assassin's Creed (beautiful game but other than that does not live up to the hype) when I'm home so I can drool over the texturing and Rayman Raving Rabbids on the Wii for about the 50th time.
Thread: Simon G2 hair bonde question. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very often items look very different in the preview window to how they render. I suggest applying the material to the hair and then render it and see if it looks okay.
If it still doesn't appeal to your aesthetic ideal for the render then post screenshots of your material room settings and your render settings and I'm sure someone here will know.
I would have loaded the hair and had a look for you but I am in Cloth Room Sim Hell at the moment ;o)

I'm back up and running now as well - time to go shopping methinks grins
I couldn't get in with Firefox either so I'm more inclined to think that the server had a brainfart.

I can't access the store at all. Homepage, What's New, What's Hot all give me a message that IE7 cannot display the page.
The forums and galleries are fine but anything that is directed to market.renderosity just doesn't work.
Thread: Didn't I see a Mertail for V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is the Lost Realms pack at Daz with a mertail:

I have that one and I can't think of any others offhand.
Thread: It Stops Rendering???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm actually amazed that you got P6 with only 512Mb of RAM to render out 4 figures and the Heroes Path scene at all, so for that WELL DONE.
I have run into problems with P7 giving me memory outages on large and complicated scenes with many Raytraced Reflections and the only way I got around it was to make my Adaption Threshold 2 and set my bucket size to 4 - not ideal and it took ages to render but it stopped all those annoying "Out Of Memory" messages.
To change your Adaption Threshold go to Edit>General Preferences and in the pop up box click on the Misc. tab. Poser 6 seems to be defaulted to 0.01 so try upping that to around 1 and see how you go with it then.
Turn off texture filtering and drop your bucket size very low. I tend to work in doubles so I will try at 32 and if that fails drop to 16 and then to 8 and then to 4 and maybe even to 2 if you have to push it.
To be honest any scenes that Poser has had issues rendering I tend to render as seperate pieces and then just layer them together in Paint Shop Pro rather than jump through hoops and mess with my standard render settings. This is very easy to do and there is nothing to worry about so long asyou have your master pz3 with your scene laid out as you want it and you don't overwirite it (yes, yes, I have!)
Most of all GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhhh, I was just going off the description of the forum and it still says Renderosity Based Free Stuff.
Poser Christmas is GREAT, a chance to pick up some great freebies and to actually remember to make some blush
