I've made a search script in python to search all my runtimes. It was deleted in an accident during my upgrade to Poser Pro. I plan to redo it, and once I do, I'll put it in the freebees section (in case I lose it again). I'll post a notification somewhere on this message board. I'm hoping to be able to have this done in a week or so.
It may not be what you're looking for, but I thought I mention it just in case.

My settings are currently set to:
Conformant texture damp: Use OpenGL specification
Thread Optimization: Off
Thread Optimization was in a solution posted by Netherworks in the Poser Keeps Freezing On Me topic.

I had the exact same problem and fixed it by:
later I found out on the Content Paradise message boards (I forget which post) you only need to change one setting in the nVidia control panel. After that, it worked like a charm. I'm on Vista64, but it would likely apply to XP64 as well.

This is where you want to go:
http://poserpro.net/New_Index_9000.html
then on the navigation tree on the left, go to COLLADA and start reading up on it. Same with PoserFusion.

The export works, but the max import doesn't work -- Autodesk doesn't keep it up to date -- there is a 3rd party importer, but that only works with certain versions of 3ds max. Check the official poser pro website for exact details -- the url escapes me right now....
There is a sample on the poser pro website showing that it works, but I haven't tried animation yet. You might want to post more details on exactly what you're trying to do, and see if anyone else has tried exactly what you want to do.

That sucks, but at least it was only $10 (2 gallons of gas in some places)... but it's always good to know which vendors care about their customers.

you can try shrinking the textures (back up the old ones first) in a paint program -- they all do this. You can even get a free one that's pretty good at http://www.getpaint.net/index.html
So if the figure textures are say 3000x3000, try downsizing it to something like 1024x1024. In many renders it's not necessary to have such large textures -- large textures are only needed for close-up shots.

You have to use .obj format, and if you're going to make clothes, garment maker doesn't seem to like working on such a small scale so you will need to scale up the model one way or another... at least that's what I've found.
Though I've never tried this because I don't have it, the 3ds format is probably for old/retired versions of 3DS (probably 3D Studio 6 and below).

I had a similar problem after installing Poser 7 and Poser 6 at the same time. The morphs would work fine with Poser 6, but with Poser 7 (AND pointing to the Poser 6 Runtime) it wouldn't work. After some feedback from someone else, and some digging of my own, I realized that if the injections make use of a Python script, and those injections are not in the default runtime directory, the Python scripts don't get called -- a problem since they probably all use relative paths.
So I had two options:
This may, or may not help you, but this is the problem I ran into. It could also just be that the file with the character in it is somehow corrupt, and you just need to make a new scene, or the content just needs to be reinstalled, or both.
