This is known as a "False-Positve" possibly due to your Virus detection heuristics or even its dodgy signature.
I usually ignore them after scanning simply because I know the source.
Interestingly, I had one from Daz myself just recently.......but, after rescanning with Malawarebytes I installed it with no further problems.
Thread: FREE DS-LuxRender Plugin | Forum: Freestuff
Quote - > Quote - The whole debate was started by a very ambiguous and nefarious looking FIRST post by SB3D-Traci, albeit with best intentions. However, a post of this nature should have been accompanied by additional information, screen-shots and authors origins etc. I see nothing wrong with tom271'S response to the post, in fact he actually asks the question "so can anyone clarify any of this"? He made no accusations or statements regarding either the content or posting author. If this post had turned up on any of my sites it would have been immediately removed and the poster would have been contacted after the removal. Using links from a post to a downloadable application is risky business unless, the such links can be proven bona fide from the off. The delete mechanism is in place on sites such as Renderosity in order to protect both members and the site in general from posts which may contain undesirable content.
Its also interesting in this particular instance that the software on offer, is in "Alpha" stage, that fact on its own should have been explained in the original post, as there is a likely potential user risk involved. After reading through this thread, I now have no doubt that Tofusans "plug-in" has some mileage associated to it. But, Tofusan himself, clearly states, he made it for his own use, without advertisement and warns, use at your own risk. That is the information which should have been declared in the very first post of this thread..............which, in fact would advertisement by a third party.
On a lighter side I may be looking at this myself, sometime. But, to be honest I am hooked on Reality and would only be interested in Tofusans product after its final release and, only then if its supported.
It is THIS exact behavior of Reality Cultists which turn so many off the product.
You might want to think about how much your behavior turns off potential customers and does much more harm than good.
Had you bothered to follow the link, you would have discovered an artist who GIVES to the community, rather than MILKS it for every dime it can like Paolo does.
You owe some people an apology.
I am taking a responsible position regarding what initially looked like a nefarious post. I have also given good reasons as to why that post looked suspicious. I also LATER gave indications as to the good intentions of the poster in question. I have not added any detriment to the author of the software itself but, simply quoted him.
Your views on Reality cultism and how it affects potential purchases are unsubstantiated and without merit. Personal preferences do not make cultist persona's.
Furthermore, I have approached this topic without slander/flaming of any individual/person. Unfortunatley, there are three individuals in this thread alone who have now and in the past mentioned a highly respected author/vendor of the Reality Plug-In [by name], as a person of dubious character.
I would ask any moderator reading this thread TO APPLY WARNINGS and REMOVE THIS THREAD.

Thread: FREE DS-LuxRender Plugin | Forum: Freestuff
Reality is the interface between Daz3 and Lux Render.......Reality is a retail item from PretA3D and Lux Renderer is FREE from the Lux Site....which is the link I gave in the second post.

Would you like to tell my why you would say such a thing?
This is a PLUGIN for DS to LuxRender. A FREE one.
Does the same thing as Reality without the cost and arrogance of the Reality author.
You really need to chill.
A couple of reasons....
Your first post which is transcribed with some Japanese Hieroglyphics.
Your link to a "blog" site!
No it will not do the same as Reality or offer the same plugins.
And, your insulting remarks about Paolo Ciccone, the author of Reality just goes to show what little you know about Reality users.
If you wish to show the folks at Rendo what may be freely available to them it would be nice to see some of your screen-shots of the software.
Also, you don't know me very well either.....I am always chilled, lol!

I started out by purchasing and using Poser but, switched to Daz soon afterwards and have been with it ever since.

Quote - > Quote - Actually Reality has plenty to do with it. I'm not claiming that I had any part in developing that feature, that is completely a feature of Lux. But Reality gives Studio users access to that feature, which would be completely unavailable otherwise. As wonderful as Lux is, without an exporter it has no way of getting the data because it does not read Studio scenes or Maya scenes or Blender scenes. The role of the exporters is crucial but nobody is claiming that the exporter has any involvement with the features of Lux. It is true, though, that before Reality was released, the ability to change light brightness and color, plus the exposure and tonal response, while rendering, was not available at all to Studio users. I hope this clarifies the role of the program and the intentions of the author. Best.
Not really, it's just more of the same.
That comment is just plain ignorant and totally unexceptable!

And, don't forget, the final outcome of any Daz Studio render via Lux as everything to do with Reality.

Thread: Complete newbie | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Quote - I posted this already in the 'character design' forum, but I get the sense that no one goes there much. I'm mostly looking to get into character design, and possibly to eventually construct comics and sequential art stories, but I have no idea how or where to begin.
I recently downloaded Daz 3D for my computer, and a number of other models, packages and such that were offered for free for beginners, but I cannot make any head or tail of anything. I've looked at a couple of tutorials and presentations, but they don't make much sense, either. Mostly because when I load the files that are suggested, my interface doesn't look anything like the one in the tutorial.
What would you suggest is a good beginning point for an absolutely complete newbie to this program, and indeed the whole 3D art/rendering world?
Be prepared for a steep learning curve in your venture.
I would go along with what the guys here are saying and take one step at a time.
First you need to understand how the Daz software functions. Then you need to understand how add content, poses and lighting to your scene. For good comic book creation you will need Photoshop or something similar.
There is no easy way!.......at the very beginning its, READ! READ! READ!. There are some super tutorials all over the web. If your not already a member you should join the Daz forum, most of everything you will need is over there.
Best of Luck..........I am sure you will get there. If you have any specific questions just post them.

Hello martial,
Yes, the Reality plug-in makes all the difference to your renders. Have you also noticed that it is able to smooth an image, this can make all the difference to things like hair and body/clothes creases. But, what I particularly like is the fact that the lighting and material set-ups are so easy to accomplish.
