What did Grey think he doing when he wrote that? Trying to go out in a blaze of controversy? "Their site is falling appart from neglect and key parts of it have already closed." "neglect?" Boy is THAT a slap in Virus' and the other Innercircle members faces! Bald faced Liar.
Thread: The Truth about MetaCreations | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well I know Larry Weinberg is gonna be PO'd because they spend MONTHS developing a programming SDK so that Bryce in iteraction could be utilized. Also the Poser 5 Pro Ed. ain't gonna happen. It's taken Larry and team since July to get a decent bug fix for P4 out and even Larry and Seath have stated that there is still quite a bit left to do with Poser 4. If anything the only thing I could see would be a "Poser Addon Pack" with plugins and the new and improved Zygote Models. AND they ARE working on a TRUE 3DS export that will hopefully be in the next patch. As for Carrera Larry was saying that Carrera was to be Meta's answer to 3DSMax. It was going to allow for LOTS of expandablity. They were also working on plugins for that program too. Bryce for $50 bucks? Sounds doable. I kinda wish they just called programs like Poser 2 or 3 and Bryce 2 or 3 the "Lite Versions" or SE versions. Not quite as good, but more entry level. Kinda like "If you like these you love THESE!" As for Canoma, it was a flop from the start. It was too expensive and it didn't allow for spheres and circluar patterns. It was nice, but not nice enough. Kinda of a waste of time and money if you ask me. In that new 3DSuite they should've put in RDS5.5. Here's hopin' huh guys.

Hoooboy.... In order now. 1.Yes you can. Even on different hard drives. It's slightly easier on the Mac to do that. In fact many users had both on their systems when it first came out. As for conflicts the only one I can see if you click a PZ3 file it might open one or the other. 2.I think if you just load the Geometries from P4 into the P3 folder it should work. The conforming clothes won't work as poser 3 doesn't have that feature. But if that's the case there are quite a few combined characters out there. 3. Meta won't but Ghost Effects (the programmers and owners)are currently tweaking the "Beta version" of the Poser 4 Patch that was release at Christmastime. It should be out "anyday now" They want to have the patch available on Meta's website, but for now they are the sole support for Poser4. I hope that helps you some. Nick

Probably not Snow. Since they did say that they are adding more vertices to allow more detailed morphs. I hope they price it so it can be affordable enough for everyone. Please no more 50 dollar models. Maybe a non-morphed version...hmmmm

Wouldn't renaming the parts to the names of the limbs do the trick too? I mean like in a skirt, even if it only had one piece calling the hip part "hip" and the adominal part "abdomen" and so on work?

I think there is a Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, C3P0 and Rebel Pilot on the Freestuff. I think the Darth was on someone elses site, but maybe if we ask enough someone'll repost it. It was really very well done. I may still have the Darth on my Hard Drive, never could get the Stormtrooper to work right.

Darth Logice is gonna gun fer ya now. Actually there was a Jar Jar someone made, but I have never seen it. Please don't bring up the split. It causes too many emotions. Look at the posts in some of the other forums and you'll get the picture.

So far I have only done one mimic character. It tried to do Jadzia from DS9 saying "OOOOO...somebody stop me!" But for some reason it added too many frames and messed up the wav. Oh well I'll try it again soon. It's fun though. And about time it came out! Nick

Hokey Smokes, Yogi! I never realized the old P4 characters looked so lame. I have never liked them, but the textures you did on them look neat. But wow, look how far we progressed too. I mean, we have models that are as close to the real thing as you can get without a $4000 software package. You are gonna love Poser4. I started with P3 and loved it. Then I really started to enjoy it when I got P4. The transparant maps you can use, the conforming clothing, and the fact that the lighting and even the default textures are slightly better. I love it. Of course I got Poser 4 for 100 bucks when it came out. (A deal I'm sure many were jealous of. Cause someone said that Meta never had a $100 deal. But I guess it pays to write down who you deal with!) Enjoy and welcome to the world that is Poser 4! Nick
