As a reminder I have to mention that Nea is a figure based on Poser 4 woman Posette
A low resolution mesh for todays standards that accepts Victoria 2 textures
Thread: Thank You! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am refering to those that think that they can make big money because there is a small precent of succesfull vendors that for a reason are on the top and probably make money or else they would just stop selling and just use poser for fun renders...
I am sure that every creator enjoys the procedure
Some creators make stuff and share even if no one buys-downloads-render their items and just enjoy the process, those are in my mind the hobby creators, those who just create anything that comes in mind and when satisfied with the result share, free or for money since they make this for fun it is still a hobby
BUT
On the other side there are vendors that will never make and share something that none will buy. I can not put those people in the first group, I am sure that they enjoy the process of making an item also because poser is fun anyway! But yes they want to sell I suspect that's their aim
I never said that they get rich from it but they won't invest time for no reason
Hobby is exactly the oposite , when someone invests time and only gets back fun
And of course this doesn't mean that a profesional won't make fun projects also
I am trully sorry that profesional wonnabe sounded absolute negative to you, doesn't it also express ambition? I wasn't refering to every hobby creator but I mention it as a trend among some begginer poser users that rush to becoming vendors, it does not express my opinion for everyone selling at the market

Posette and Dork were part of Zygote's "Perfect People" collection. They were stock figures sold to anyone needing realistic humans in their CGI app.
I wonder who hold the copyright of Poser 4 people
is it inherited to every new poser owner or it still remains on Zygote?

Quote - Typical example a recent comment which said hobby creators are "professional wannabe". Which I don't think is really fair on the folks who make this stuff, hence this thread. So we can say a big thanks to those who create rather than complain. If nothing else without them , they'd be nothing to complain about :)
I made this comment but the full post was referring to people that just want to learn quickly how to make money from poser user base
IMHO many store items are lower quality than free stuff that we used to see some years before
How can some people think poser as a hobby but still their only concern is how to make money?
Isn't that a professional approach to something?
That's why I don't recognize anyone that has a store here full of low quality replicas of other successful products that their professional creators invested time and effort (I'm sure everyone has come across a store like this).
This in combination with no other interaction with the community (forum posts, gallery uploads, free stuff sharing) looks to me as pure easy money chase...
Hobby has to be fun also and not just easy money

This means that poser can read him as weight map figure without further adjustments?

Couldn't agree more!
Thanks everyone but mostly the free stuff creators
And as Joey from Friends said: It is a love based of giving and receiving as well as having and sharing. And the love that they give and have is shared and received. And through this having and giving and sharing and receiving, we too can share and love and have... and receive.

Poser community since the first Victoria is dyadic
Victoria came as an alternative to Posette she is now
the mainstream poser figure and all the other figures try to be alternatives
There is a main concept in all Victoria versions, neutral and morphable
If poser could keep this concept on their basic figures and evolve them, using new poser features that come with every version,
without extreme distances from average, than yes average user could use them.
Ok there are people out there like Jessy, Don or even Simon
but this is not a neutral base to transform to everything, ugly or beautiful.
Antonia was a very interesting example of how community could join and produce a very powerful and supported figure
BUT she lost it not being neutral enough
IMHO every poser figure can be transformed in something desirable and it is a great joy when this happens
but potential don't make a successful figure. It should look great from the beginning
It should be love at first sight :)

I would like to see a more automatic cloth room set up option. The idea:
On the cloth load just set the calculation frames number and than poser could
calculate automatically the transition from T pose to current frame pose without further set-up
Since most poser hobbyist use it for static renders this would require less time and knowledge
of course this would also require that dynamic cloth file should carry all the dynamic info in it
This way cloths that already have been set up can be used almost as easy as conforming cloths
except of course the draping calculation time
Also would this be possible with Python script?
Thread: Is hobby 3D a dyng art? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey Osper :) nice to see you!
I took a break from poser for a while and this post expresses many on my own wonderings about what have changed while I was off
I see the same motifs reapeating again and again...
However since the title wonders if hobby 3D is a dyng art, I would way that hobby 3D artists now more than ever before are split to hobby content creators (professional wannabe) and buyers-renderers.
However those hobby vendors with tech knowledge at P6 level keep the magor part of products away from using new features of new poser versions. New Poser figures once again not a bright advertisment of all the new features and get treated from SM as plain content.
Maaaaaaaany new figures - so many that none of those gets real attention even those with a whole site backing them up.
And all the victoria lovers for the first time can't use the new version as easy as before in poser
Have I missed anything?

My guess is that the poser community changed just like the way this site changed...
At the old times the most advanced users were slowly becoming vendors but still were part of this forum, they participated in any way.
As some of them become recognized and maybe famous in the poser community they created new sites, stores and forums, RDNA is the first example that comes in mind.
Those new places were competitive to Renderosity store and this guided to strict rules about posting commercial stuff from other sites. That was the first time I started to feel less free to talk
A big part of the community looking at the profit possibilities started to turn from poser users to poser vendors and than more new sites with medium quality products started to appear. This made it easy to everyone think that can get money quick, I remember a few years ago I started noticing posts from people with very few posts and activity asking how to make stuff for poser and sell them. Apparently those people didn't came here to make friends or learn how to use poser better and have fun but how to use poser to make money, quick!
That was the time where I started reducing my visits on the poser forums...
