Thats what I call preperations, when you do excatly that, to make your "universe" having an inventory of characters and walker-on's. But there is always an item that needs to made extra, and to remember that you have to ceep up with your time table, the extras should be within the time budget.
To do just a different camera angle and having the same characters/walker-on's, that is something you can only do a few times spread randomly over all the images. Or else it will be to obvious that the artist took a short cut. Here's the questions about what you will comprimise with:
Use the time to make the scene set properly and use global illumination, which to my taste make splendid renders, and have slightly difference in the mood of the image, which I believe only artists themselfs can tell the difference about?
Or, make the scene set faster, using more time on the lighting to get the right mood?
Who is the receiver, the artists or the regular man? The regular man: Hmm, has the artist used raytracer or global illumination?
Thread: How is the lighting and render in Vue? | Forum: Vue
No offense, Cheers, its a good debate.
I'm committing this compromise out from the following account:
If you are going to make about 500 images, working full time, take 52 weeks in a year minus four weeks of vacation, if you have one. One year is 48 weeks of full time work (Mon - Fri).
In one year of full time work, you must finish two rendered images per day. Two images! Thats composing scene, modelling, shading, lighting and rendering. So, if you take some more time on each image, lets say you finish one image per day, then you will be finished in two years.
Somewhere here we have to cut the hours. Or not, if you have no life and work all days and all hours.
Why 500 images? Comic book.
I will sure look into that book though.

Yeah, I see now... I used the tutorial settings, no other light source, no ambient. Thanks
Thread: Any good terrains shaders for Carrara? | Forum: Carrara
But does anyone know how the shaders for Carrara that is sold here is, the "Carrara Shades of Reality" by Hawkin-Z GraF-X? I see in the feature list that it contains 20 terrain shaders, but there is no sample images of them.
I have tried to use the terrain exported from Bryce, but I don't find the right Bryce export - Carrara import parameters that will give a good result.
Anyone knows good parameters here?

After done your points, the model is not visible. Have I not managed to edit the cr.2 file properly do you think?

If it is better and you want to look at the files, they are at attached linkI have tried to tweak the center points, hours and hours are just flying and I getting nowhere. Or as a clever man said:" I have learned what does not work."
Thread: Poser tut on conforming, but still nothing! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What is it that make the clothes conform, the basic that makes it look similar to a conform? Should all the center points align, and then you tweek the others?
I have done PhilC's and some of yours, thip, but nothing comes right. With altering a cr2 file, something really weird happens. But I have gone over and made PHI file, and it at least looks like the same thing almost when I try to pose. I have done this before, but never managed to make it conform.
Thread: Upgrade to P5 or buy DAZ figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually, that is how I conlcuded. I have Win2000 and P41.8Mhz and half a Gig RAM, which I think would give resonable velocity. But the crashes mentioned here are disturbing to hear about. I also have a Mac with OSX, which has given me a meaningfull life after OSX, because I have never had crashes with it. But on the other hand my Mac hardware is to slow. Maybe it is possible to make the PC and Mac to live in a symbiosis. Model and compose on Mac, because it never crash, and render on PC, because it is faster.

ronstuff, thank you for the exhaustive conclusion. Based upon this and my preferences, I have made up my mind of what I will do. And thanks to you others for making the tread sort of a representative opinion sample.

Thread: Upgrade to P5 or buy DAZ figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I see... Good arguments for both sides! I have give in some thoughts about the DAZ when it comes to setting parameters for home made clothes. I have tried to learn, but are still learning about confirming clothes. Some tutorials have taken parameters from other native Poser clothes to help out on finding right parameters for the conforming of P4 man/woman. How is it to find parameters help for conforming for the DAZ, vice verca P5? And how is to make old characters and children in P5?
Please again, anyone?
Thread: :: What Bryce 6 should be like...if possible! :: | Forum: Bryce
Want to add in so Doc could see that this tread is a little bit more representative survey on the topic of what user wants. As I have read the treads after the message on no new Bryce, which I have been waiting for as all others, I started right away to look for an alternative similar to Bryce. I did not think: "Oh no, now I have to go for a high-end app." My excisting Bryce is working (not literaly) as a symbiosis together with my other apps., making it almost perfect except for the lack of ability to import Poser animations. I read a horrible handbook on Poser 4 one time that stated that this feature would come in Bryce 5(huh!). So, all this time since then, I have been waiting on the right next Bryce version. And the closest alternatives, compared in price, was Vue and MojoWorld. I tried MojoWorld Demo and found it to be too tedious to make something fast and simple, based upon what you know from before and how you believe it should interact with your other apps. So I excluded it. I went on over to the Vue Demo and found it to have my toplist features, if having Mover 4. It was more in the "family" alike, except that I was fumbling to find the texture mapper in it for imported objects. Doc, I'm just frank. I did not like the MojoWorld from my demo experience. It might have all this good feature and is powerfull. But I'm looking for a ease of use that can work in "symbiosis" together with my other apps. If not so, why should I not move over to a high-end app.? So Doc, if you get Bryce, cook it along with MojoWorld and make a fantastic curry that still looks like Bryce! Well, at least one more in the survey sample, eh? Snekkis

Thread: Best modeling app. for Poser | Forum: Poser Technical
Electranaut,
Have you tried other apps. which you compare Rhino against?
Does Rhino have a better vertex modeler than Carrara, if you are able to compare, or someone else?
How about Lightwave modeler vs Carrara modeler?
