Version of P8 on Tiger has only the installed runtime and does not call on runtimes on any other part of the computer.
Version of P8 on Leopard has other runtimes within the Poser 8 folder and does not call on runtimes on any other part of the computer.

Quote - all prefs/preview display at default settings?
Yes. But undo reduced to 12 and 6 for render cache.
What's the "thread" number mean, by the way? It is larger in Poser 8.

Quote - jeez, this was already at the bottom of the page today! well, anyway, sunbeam, what happens when ya unmount and turn off the leopard disk, then try to run poser 8.app from main HD of G5 tower? is any software like "little snitch" installed?
?little snitch?
I installed Poser on the main drive (Tiger) and it was only after finding it rather sluggish that I decided to instal it on Leopard as well.

p.s. whilst P8 may not a 64-bit app, leopard and snow leopard are both able to access 8 GB. altho one would question how one could jam all those into a G5. 4 slots at 512 MB each would be default IIRC.
This G5 has eight slots all capable of taking 1Gb.

Quote - in re: the spinning pizzas in poser 8, just 3 questions: 1. was the version of poser 8 the downloaded version?
- was the poser 8.app patched?
- what is the final size of the poser 8 folder in applications folder?
I bought the CD version
Patch was applied
on Tiger the Poser 8 folder is 4.93 Gb
on Leopard it's bigger because I've added runtimes, 5.84Gb

Quote - I second the library motion.
Add my vote to that. I prefer the old library to this new version.

Quote - Smith micro,
Do you realize that your are asking euopean customers $199 for the full version off poser 8 physical delivery , and that delivery costs are $47.55 that is 24%.
I ordered the hybrid upgrade disc - shipping (to UK) was only $17.99, why is your charge so much more???.
Thread: BUYING POSER 8 -- BEWARE!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Make SUREÂ you are not logged in as "Guest" when you add P8 to your cart!!!!
Make SUREÂ you log into your account BEFOREÂ YOUÂ ENTERÂ YOURÂ SERIALÂ NUMBER!!!!!I just added the serial after adding the item to the cart, went to check out, it asked me to log in -- and when I was logged in my cart was empty.
It is now not letting me use my P7 Serial number, so I can't buy it until I hear from freaking support.
Same problem here; it let me enter the serial number, and then when I logged in it wouldn't recognise it again. So I shut the machine down, went off for a cup of tea, watched the box for an hour and then tried again, logging in first. Worked fine. Now all I have to do is wait patiently for the postman...

But my problem with Poser 8 I suspect will be the need for an intel based Mac to run it.
If it needs an Intel chip then I won't be buying it for my G5 PowerMac.
I wish they'd hurry up and tell us what they're up to!
Thread: Poser 8 advertised! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I shall wait until Poser 8 has been out for a while before I do anything - see what the first users think -, and then I shall be quite happy to upgrade providing Poser 8 is an improvement on Poser 7 (which I find has sluggish response to parameter dials compared with Poser 6).Â
I may not like the interface changes, but will get used to them.
I don't buy thousands of dollars worth of bits and bobs, though I buy quite a few; and I'm quite happy playing with dollies and dressing them up (or down ... ) - for which I blame my sister, who used to insist on me helping her with her cardboard cut-out dolls and paper dresses.
They key feature is, of course, that it will run on my G5 and not require a Mac with an Intel chip.
And I would like the Content Paradise forum working again and a few flying pigs.
