The refraction node is what gives you the glass effect. Notice the ball I used lets you see the cloud background behind it, yet you get more bending of the light at the edges of the ball, just like you would with a real glass ball. If you were to add transparancy, it would tend to ruin the effect. But you have to make sure you have ray tracing checked when you do your render, otherwise no light passes through your glass. About Loretta, she's just an old character I play with from time to time. I just brought her out to demo the anisotropic node. She gets lots of different make-up variations depending on what I want to do with her.

And not just as a jpeg. You can also save it as a .bmp, a .tiff, a .png, a photoshop .psd, and a couple others I'm not familiar with. PS, when you save a jpeg, make sure you use the quality you want, the bigger the number, the better the quality. I like 90 to 95, but if you are pressed for hard disk space you can go lower.

Lips with Anisotropic applied. Same set-up and settings for anisotropic node as very top image.

I am probably asking a silly question, but do you have ray tracing enabled in your render settings? Also I think you want to set Ambient color to black and have all your transparancy settings set to 0.0000. And I also don't think you need Alternate Specular, as your reflection node is doing the same thing. Other than that, it looks like you have it set up right.

It is interesting that a big compnay like McDonalds is using a cyber model instead of a real model.

One problem with drop figure to floor all frames is that in a dance, if the figure is supposed to be leaping into the air, the figure is now stuck on the ground and so it loses part of the flow of the dance because the figure is now always at the same level. One alternative is to leave the figure alone and instead create a floor prop from a single sided square and move the floor up or down. If you have other objects in the room such as furniture, just parent them to the floor prop so they move up and down with the floor.

Yeah, you might try enabling those setting just to see what happens. Not that familiar with ATI, it was several computers back since I have had an ATI. Do have the latest drivers though, that seems to be the big problem. With mine, I could load up Poser 6, but when I tried to open a scene or load a character, it would immediately exit. When I loaded the latest drivers, it worked perfectly.

Robo2010, you need to tell us what kind of video card you are using and how recent your drivers for that card are. I have an Nvidia GeForce 5200, and Poser 6 had just the problems you describe on my computer. So I downloaded the most recent drivers from Nvidia's website, and now Poser 6 runs like a dream. I have yet to have it crash now, and I haven't even encountered the memory bug. Also people, when you give your computer specs, be sure to include what kind of vidio card you have.

With Poser 6, for me anyway, you alt click the Tools, and it disappears. Then you go to Window and re-check it. And then Tools is vertical. Same with DocStyle.

Area render is just so damn cool. It alone is worth the upgrade
to Poser 6. Now instead of taking all day to render
a scene and then finding something just isn't right, tweaking
it and then taking all day to render again, and it still
isn't right and finally just saying "good enough",
with area render I can tweak and tweak and tweak until
I get it right, and then do the final render. Saves a
lot of time, and if time is money, then Poser 6 is money
well worth spending.

I've gone to two monitors myself. The left hand monitor is just the working area, and all the tools and menus are on the right hand monitor. And this way I can have the working area set to 1200 x 900. And the text in the tool and menu right hand monitor is still big enough to read.
