I turn off the color management and it looks the same as what I see on the web. Edit - Color Setting - Color Management Off setting.
Thread: How do you allocate screen geography? | Forum: Photoshop
Did anyone mention Shift - Tab? Similar to Tab as Alpha mentioned except it leaves the Toolsbar(left) and only removes the Palettes(right). Shift - Tab again brings all the Palettes back.

That I didn't know Cinema1954. I'm Canadian eh! LOL
Width is always first as in our paper size 8 1/2 x 11. That explains why US people seem to never be consistant. It's not width or height first ... it's smallest # first. Go figure. Learn something everyday.
Thread: Contact Sheets Negative Space | Forum: Photoshop
As stated by cambert use the File - Automate - Contact Sheets II. On that menu, uncheck "Use Filename as Caption" and that cuts a lot of space between images. Of course they won't be captioned then.

I too would call it a 5 x 4 tablet as you normally measure across first, the wacom people call it a 4 x 5. Go figure. Then again I guess it depends on the orientation (landscape or portrait). The Intuos2 does have 1,024 levels of pressure and comes with a better grip stylus. The Graphire2 has only 512 levels but then again Intuos2 will run you twice the price ($199 vs $99). Intuos2 bundled with Adobe Photoshop Elements and Painter Classic and the Wacom Pen Tools. Graphire2 bundled with Adobe Photoshop LE and Painter Classic and the Wacom Pen Tools. Only one problem with the tablet. I can't be without one now. I have one on both my computers.

I have the Wacom Graphire 4 x 5 tablet. Comes with stylus and cordless mouse. I use it daily and have basically disregarded my regular mouse. You can move over the entire screen with little, if any, movement of hand. Other big benefit of the tablet is the pressure sensitivity. For one, you don't have to change brush sizes so often. So much more control. I would not go larger if I had to make the choice over again. Hard to justify cost difference between the 6 x 8 at $340 when the 4 x 5 at $99 unless the software it comes is worth it.

I'm at the other end of the spectrum. The publishing for Web side...very little with the print side. When i'm not reworking hundreds of images daily or trying to deside which graphics software to master next or web designing, i'm here looking for questions to answer (or correcting people LOL).

Sorry, I didn't mean contradict you like that. Constantly working with graphics has trained my eye.

BTW ... If you open the .BMP and change the Image - Mode - Indexed Color to RGB Color first then you do get the Save As: JPG option.
Thread: phtoshop help | Forum: Photoshop
When you open a .BMP file in Photoshop, you don't have the choice of .JPG in the File - Save As: which is why I suggested other way. Of course, you can use just about any graphics program to convert a .BMP to a .JPG.
Thread: phtoshop help | Forum: Photoshop
To change .BMP to .JPG with Photoshop, File - Open your .BMP and File - Save for Web and select JPEG from the Settings on right. Select the 4-UP tab and select the image with the quality needed. Click OK and save image.
Thread: how to do this? | Forum: Photoshop
The text to path is a great tool in Illustrator and if Photoshop had all of Illustrator's features then there were be no need for Illustrator. Adobe doesn't want that. You can of course start with Illustrator and then use Photoshop. Save As: an .ai file, Save for Web: as a .gif or .jpg, Export as a .psd, drag and drop, copy/paste. When I am working graphics and text I have Illustrator, Photoshop, Image Ready and Corel Painter (previously MetaCreations Painter) open. Where Adobe is lacking I use CorelDraw (which has their CorelDraw and Photo-Paint and R.A.V.E. in one package plus more).
Thread: Tile options | Forum: Photoshop
For a 3d effect, you can create cylinder, sphere and cube in Photoshop in: Filter - Render - 3D Transform ------- For a 2d effect with repeating seamless edge images (or kaleidoscope tile), Image Ready has a Tile Maker that you can find in: Filter - Other - Tile Maker
Thread: Symmetry Painting | Forum: Photoshop
The Terrazzo filter won't let you paint in symmetry but will allows you to create kaleidoscope-like designs using a portion of your image. It takes a single tile of your image cropped into shape and repeats, reflects, or flips it a number of times in interlocking symmetrical patterns over the surface of your image. Each Symmetry option gives a different tile shape and tiling pattern. You can then apply it to the image you used to make it or to another image.
Actually i'm using this filter with Corel Photo-Paint (came with it) but there is a plugin for Photoshop.
