Agree, Sam. I always render to a separate window just because it is such a pain to break out of the "preview" mode. Plus it is easier to save if I do like it.
Thread: Odd python problem. | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Over a year. Just cropped up Saturday. The problem is I don't want to disable python because I do use it, and like the buttons. I just don't like the idea of it popping up when I start. I was hoping there was a simple fix but I guess I'll just have to live with it.
Thread: so... how to get rid of P6 content tab? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Geep, I love free stuff that I can use. Like your tutorials. But having an extra tab I don't use is like getting a free white elephant to keep in my tiny backyard. Just takes up space. If I want to access a web site I'll just use Firefox.

But what I really want is to not have the pop-up load up in the first place when I first start poser. How do I do this?

To get a more realistic glass look, use the refraction node instead. Be sure raytracing is on when you render.

The naive question is, if they run out, why not just make more? After all, it is only a few pieces of plastic and there is still lots of petroleum left in the world.

And make the files sizes of the textures smaller. And don't load any morphs you don't need.

I find if you go to processes in the Windows Task Manager, sometimes explorer.exe is the one hogging up all the resources. So I do an End Process for explorer.exe and then Poser can do its thing a be done. Be sure to reload explorer afterwards from Applications : New Task... Just click New Task and type explorer in the pop-up window. Otherwise you can't see any desktop icons or the task bar. Then re-boot. This way at least you get to save any Poser work in progress.

Usually this has to do with Poser running out of memory to load up all the textures. Maybe you could use some smaller or reduced resolution texture maps that don't take up as much memory. Also try removing morphs you aren't using. Anything to make the file smaller would help.
Thread: PP or P4 versions of objects..which to use? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Plus a lot of P4 stuff uses a .bum file which isn't included and must be converted from a .jpg first. Otherwise Poser 5 spends forever looking for a non-existant .bum file. Best to just delete the P4 version so you don't click on it by mistake and lock up Poser 5.
