Very true. What I described was the original meaning of watermark as on quality paper stock. Also, it was not for security. If you want a deterrent for people using your images, you would have to make another layer with your watermark on it. It would be the top layer over your image. You can make it as obvious as you want (changing the opacity). It is just a deterrent to thief of your images as it would take some editing of your image before being able to use it as their own. There are Java Scripts that will disable right clicks on a web page and other security for images being taken. As for digital watermarks, if you have real concerns about copywrite of your images, you would need the search engine that searches out your digital watermark or you would have a rather big job on your hands searching web and reading each image for your watermark (or rely on the honor system). Sorry, i'm not a fan of digital watermarks.

Still won't you let open image in a specific resolution. You can change resolution in another program before you open it in photoshop, open image in photoshop then change resolution or paste image into a photoshop image with a specific resolution. Any reason why you don't want to change resolution once image is in photoshop? Maybe there is a way I don't know of.

Only way I know of is if you File - New, you can make file any resolution then copy your source image and paste into the new Phototshop file. When pasted, it is rendered in the resolution of the destination image. Otherwise, you have to File - Open your photograph in Photoshop and then Image - Image Size and change resolution there.

Just a matter of starting a new file. The file dimensions are determined by the watermark size and the spacing between watermarks. The larger the text/image the less marks there will be on page ... the more space around text/image the further away from each other the marks will be, change background to a layer and fill with a solid color, creating a second layer for your text/image (gif with transparent background), add effects to text/image (optional), lower opacity of both layers (each can have a different opacity. You need something around 10-15%), crop if necessary, Select - All, Edit - Define Pattern. Start a new file. Edit - Fill, selecting Pattern from the Contents Use: drop down menu then choose the pattern you just defined from drop down menu. This will fill your new file with your watermark tiled over page.
Thread: Saving a texture channel ? | Forum: Photoshop
You can copy and paste. eg. make a selection of an image you want to use as a texture and Ctrl-C (or Edit - Copy). Go back to your image you want to apply the lighting effects texture on. Click on Channels tab, click on Create New Channel icon at bottom of palette, Ctrl-V (or Edit - Paste). Click back on the Layers tab and select the layer you want to apply the effect too. When you go to Filter - Render - Lighting Effects, select Alpha 1 (or whatever you renamed it to) from the Texture Channel at bottom of the Lighting Effect dialog box and click OK.
Thread: Lens Flare Q | Forum: Photoshop
Make a selection, apply a Lens Flare, then Image - Adjust - Desaturate. If you want to desaturate the whole image, deselect after you do the Lens Flare then Desaturate.

If you are not worried about money and want to be severely limited in choice then Digimarc watermark is for you. Just click on register and fork over your wallet.
Since you are into graphics or at least photoshop, you can easily make your own watermarks. Something original with meaning for you.

I recently found flood plug-in. I forgot to add that one for water after I mentioned the water drop plug-in. That is probably one the best plug-in flamingpear has. Combine that with the Glare and Flexify Plug-ins (also from Flamingpear) can create some very interesting effects for a body of water and surrounding area.

Every once and a while Photoshop starts acting weird. 90% of the time it can be attributed to one simple thing ... Photoshop Prefs file has become corrupt for some reason or another. Luckily, the repair job is simple. (Or so they say).
Delete the file called "Adobe Photoshop 6 Prefs". (The location depends on your OS.)
Win95/98
C:WindowsApplication DataAdobePhotoshop6.0Adobe Photoshop 6 SettingsAdobe Photoshop 6 Prefs
Win2K
C:Documents and SettingsApplication DataAdobePhotoshop6.0Adobe Photoshop 6 SettingsAdobe Photoshop 6 Prefs
Then restart Photoshop. This will force Photoshop to create a brand-new factory-fresh set of preferences.

Thread: Looking for tutorials for clouds or mountains? | Forum: Photoshop
You can do so much more with Bryce on mountains and clouds. In Photoshop, if you are looking for fluffy thick clouds the easy way, you can use the Alien Skin's Xenofex Plug-ins for Photoshop called Little Fluffy Clouds. But that is the easy way. This is a stone texture tutorial that gives good effects for details on mountain. Stone Texture
Thread: disappearing actions menu | Forum: Photoshop
Sounds like you may have created the new actions in a SUB folder of the actions folder in Photoshop causing Photoshop confusion and displaying nothing. Try taking those new actions totally out of Photoshop directory. Reboot and restart Photoshop. If this solves the problem then click on the arrow head to choose the Load Actions command from the actions palette menu. You can load actions from any folder on computer and it will append to default actions.
