Sorry but I can't clearly understand your problem. Did you used the DOF in the render options? And if so did you check the option to "current selection"?

not bad for a newbie, I think I saw time ago a tutorial regarding twisters (maybe on this forum) try to search. Maybe to improve this image try to change the material settings in order to create a more twisting-cloud effect.

I think that the idea of johnpenn is also good - first because one can give a weight to his votes, so he can tell the audience that he judges ex-aequo 2 images, or that an image is one step beyond to the others. - second because he put a vote for me in the example. ;P But... maybe this type of voting is too complicated and the poor AgentSmith will have a lot of work.

3 pts. for the first 2 pts. for the second 1 pt. for the third I think it is the simplest way to vote

The point of view is also important. If you want that something in the foreground appears bigger than it is try to set the camera looking from bottom. ( Like the video of Kylie Minogue or Anastacha, they seem very high ;P)

I completely agree with firefly, make some "things" coming out from the darkness but not really viewable. Congrats for your new baby!
Thread: Bryce Forum's May Challenge Voting!!! - "The Duel" - Vote Here!!! | Forum: Bryce
well... it's really hard... There are at least 5-6 images that I'll vote but... at the end my vote goes to ALLEYCAT169, I Love the colors and the shadows of his image. Honorable mention to humorix who made an incredible image, but it is out of scale, voting for him is too easy, I think that at this time noone other can manage primitives like Avi, he is several light year beyond of all of us...

400MB !! you have all estimate. Looking better at your image I noticed some unfinished particulars ( like the right hand of the left gladiator) but I know it's only a matter of time and it'll be perfect! (bun now I cant post my image with the fencing robots in the arena, my idea is too much similar to your ;P )

Ultimate image of Bryce, after this any other boolean object will appear silly and simple ( HOW CAN YOU DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). How many Megabytes is the project? Really, really, really, great modeling skills, but this time I have two critiques to your image 1 the clouds look not real. 2 the gladiator seem a bit static (even if the final touch of the blood is marvellous). With my words I don't want to demolish your work, mine are only improvements in order to let you achieve total perfection. 10++!!
