Nice work. The one on the left, with the door completely in shadow, tends to make you focus on what is beyond the door. Having the door almost entirely and so brightly illuminated as it is on the right tends to focus your attention on the door. At least that is how it works for me, but I'm strange and others may see it differently. ;-) I tend to like the one on the left because it is begging you to go beyond the door with its focus on the bright environment beyond. In a way I would like to see something inbetween the left and right images, but tending more towards the left. A little light on the inside of the door might be a good thing. Also... the shape and position of the shadow on the inside of the door in the right image really bothers me. Is the light coming form inside the room, the sun outside, or both? And just what is casting the shadow. Its all a bit muddled and unclear in effect.

Pakled, I sanded the sharp edges of the aluminum to smooth and dull them before placing the unrolled can on the scanner, and believe me, I was careful. :-)

Treemont, The soda can is looking good. :-) Glad I could help you with your modeling questions over in the Rhino Forum. Here are two quick and dirty Bryce test renders of the soda can model I showed you in your Rhino Forum post. Enjoy. To created the label on the can model I actually cut the top and bottom off of a Coke can and unrolled it. I taped it down to a piece of cardboard and scanned it in expecting to have to clean and edit the scan in Photoshop. However, the color distortions created by the aluminum's reflective surface were so great that I gave up and just traced over the scanned image in Illustrator. Luckily I already had most the fonts that I needed. The text stamped into the top of the can was drawn as curves in Rhino3D and exported as an Illustrator file. After a little editting in Illustrator the text was saved as a bitmap which was then applied as a bump map in Bryce. A version of this model was already used in an illustration I completed for a client, but I have an idea for a strange little still-life I'd like to try with the can and render in Bryce. If I get it completed I'll post it in this forum. Oh... and hello to everyone else here in this great little Bryce Forum. I've been a lurker here now and then. :-)
