The shader is now unlocked in the Free Items: Free Background ShaderI did some more work on the background shader. Especially the use of radians instead of the usual degrees. The Firefly math nodes do not offer a solution here. But the Math Node from Cycles does. It has a much wider range of functions. And here we also find two functions to convert the rotation direction from radians to degrees and vice versa.
I have also uploaded the whole thing as a free item. This should be unlocked soon.
The whole thing now looks like this:

And here are a few more pictures. The only lighting is the background HDRI and a small point light (intensity 8%) in the left corner of the room.

Some things have already been mentioned here. What convinced me to use the Superfly renderer exclusively is the rendering speed of Poser 12. In Poser 11, the SF renderer was a lame duck and I only worked with the Firefly renderer. Since Poser 12, I have not used the FF renderer. Add to that the use of the Cycles nodes. Since I have worked a lot with Blender, I see this as a big advantage for me. To which there is a wealth of information and examples of Cycles material on the internet. Well, not everything can be implemented yet, because nodes are still missing, but I think the Poser developers are on the right track here.

Ahh Okay! Then I have misunderstood something. I thought you were working with the Shadowcatcher from EZdome. I already knew the other one. But thank you! There is a picture for that:

The next best solution is to use the Raytrace Preview window to give you an idea of what the background scene will look like instead of using the render engine. I usually have that window available in the material room when fine-tuning adjustments.
As you say the Raytrace Preview window is a help and I also did a few low sample renders when I was getting close but it does mean that the process is more difficult than using a dome for lighting. Just not sure at the moment if the extra work when lighting from the background gives me anything better than a dome.

A comfortable version of the background shader. When playing around with the shader, you should use a small HDR image. 2k or so. Large images always cause a delay that gets on your nerves in the long run.

Have also worked a little HDR images. I think the renders are really good with it. But sometimes the renders are extremely overexposed. I got the problem under control with the Cycles Gamma node. The first image was rendered without the node and without a rotation, the second with rotation, the third image I then corrected with the gamma node. I used the HDR image. Without applied rotation it was not bad but too dark for my purposes. After the rotations it was extremely overexposed. The differences between the images become quite clear.
The Material room:

Image 02 with rotation:
Image 03 with rotation and gamma node:
Thread: Will Poser run offline? | Forum: Poser 12
There is hardly any software that doesn't do that. They all want our data. In the meantime, I don't care. At the latest when you log in to any service, store, etc. your data is gone anyway.

Thread: Is there any way to know if a figure is hair? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Hi, I have had a similar problem. My solution, just add the word hair in the name of the hair object. It is annoying, but actually only a small additional effort. Your Python program will always work 100% from now on.
Greetings
