Third question: How do I do this? I mean, when I go to upload a freebie here at Renderosity it just gives me the option to upload a file. It doesn't seem to give me an option to post a link to the freebie on another web site. Is there a trick to it that I'm just not seeing?
Thanks.

Thread: Renderosity Freebie Posting Policy Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Just to answer your second question, I have noticed many freeshare items posted at both sharecg and Rendo.
I'm wondering, though, if I can post my ShareCG freebies here. In other words, can I upload a freebie exclusively onto ShareCG and then post a link here on Renderosity so that people who find the freebie here will actually be directed to visit the ShareCG site in order to actually download the freebie? I mean, at first glance I don't see why not. I see some freebies here which redirect me to the private sites of the artist which created the freebie in order to actually download the freebie.

Sorry, I just noticed there is a "Freestuff" forum down at the bottom of the forums page. I guess I should have posted this there. Would a site moderator please move this if necessary.
My apologies.
Thanks.

Ooops! I found it. You were right lesbentley. I didn't realize there was a "new figures" folder but it is there.

I went into the Hierarchy editor and clicked on Create new figure, however, it didn't seem to do anything. I selected the top most parent and named the figure but then it didn't seem to save anywhere or do anything. :(

Quote - are you importing the 3ds and saving it to the prop library, then delete it from the scene and reload from the library ? Then position and parent it .
Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. When I import the prop I need to check a couple boxes in the import dialog screen and that seems to fix the problem. :)

Thread: Poser Cloth Room Questioin | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Hi Gary,
I'm no pro animator, but I'll give it a shot. Frames. You have a number of frames in the animation yes? So delete the frames where the flag is flat. I was thinking too that if you can, have the animation start and end on frames with the same wave patern so you dont get any stutter in the animation.
Hope that helps.
Oops cross post.
I had already thought of this and have been trying to edit the animation to where the beginning and end blend in. I managed to do it fairly successfully once for another flag animation I did, however, it's very hard to find frames that are far apart and yet have the same folds. There is always a little hickup where the animation loops. I'd like to get rid of it. I've tried playing around setting keyframes in the Keyframe editor, however, moving around key frames doesn't seem to effect the folds in the flag. I was hoping there was some sort of trick that Poser could be manipulated to create a looping animation with a dynamic cloth. :(

Thread: Best Clothing Conversion Utility | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - ...and if you don't get quite the satisfaction with either of these that you've hoped for, this WILL work!
You import the clothing item obj into Blender and re-shape to fit your target figure perfectly, then import the obj into Poser and make it into a conforming cloth with PhilC's Obj2Cr2. It's like you just made your own special version.
Oh!, and then, you get a copy of Dimension3D's Morph Clothes, and you make your clothing item into that exactly right outfit for your special character.
Just some options to consider...
The only problem with the above is that Mike 4's legs are so darn close together that it's hard to use OBJCR2 or anything to get clothing to fit him right. So I've always relied on XDresser. :(

Quote - You may find that the OBJ2CR2 file converter is all that you need. It will take a clothing model, grouped, ungrouped, incorrectly grouped, it does not matter, and convert it into conforming clothing.

OK. I bought this OBJ2CR2 thingy. I sent an e-mail to get it registered, however, browsing through some of the files and what not I don't see where Mike4 is supported. Which template do you use for Mike 4?

Maybe you can add some screenshots. Breaking in clothes sounds like a welding issue. And other things might be JP related. JP=Joint Parameters.
I don't know what welding or Joint Parameters are so I don't know how to fix such problems. That's why I'm simply looking for someone who is interested in taking pre existing models and creating Poser figures with them. If I can find someone like that I will be happy for now until I can get a better grasp of clothes making myself.
I'm willing to split credit for the props. I don't expect anyone to do me any favors but if there is someone out there who thinks they would actually enjoy creating clothes out of models someone else makes then I have an opportunity for them to put their skills to some use. They get an opportunity to use their artistic skills to play around with some 3D models and I get an outlet to foster my talents for 3D modeling.
Any takers?

So far, grouping things hasn't been the biggest problem. For instance the socks I made all grouped to the shin correctly, however, when I go to conform the figure it gets all out of whack. The same with the coat I made. Everything was grouped pretty much as it should have been except that when I went to move the figure tears developed in the clothing. Part of the problem looks like it might have to do with the figure not being "zeroed" correclty. Does your OBJ2CR2 program solve this?
