Congratulations and welcome to the brother/sisterhood. You've broken a few haiku rules but the rules are always open to question and depending on who you ask, they change quite a bit. I think you very much have the spirit of what it is all about. Even if it isn't "strictly" classified as haiku, it is still short form poetry and a perfect marriage of photography and poetry, two beautiful forms of artistic expression. I'm so tickled that someone took the bait. :-) You can do a web search on haiku and find tons of sites to learn about it and the seemingly endless number of forms of this style of poetry. If you want some suggestions, I'd be happy to offer them and I look forward to seeing some of your work in future posts. Let me know if I can help.

Mr. Poofy-shirt was quite a hit with the ladies at the event. I heard more than comment about "he can shiver me timbers." The redish blonde, though not "babe" quality did have obvious assets of her own.

Thanks all. Did you notice how the red and yellow looks closer to you than the blue and green? It gives the images a 3d look. Hummm, I'm going to have to play with that idea a bit.

I've read that a flash does well in correcting the harsh shadows from bright sun. I've never tried it on my digital, haven't figured out how to force a flash in bright light yet. Your pictures are great and looks like you weren't too shy, especially with your men shots. #1 is great.

Misha is making a good point for you here. I had similar trouble when I first connected. It isn't real obvious how you get into all of the gallerys. I had to figure out that you need to click on the thumbnail to get into the slides. There is a certain amount of hunting required to learn your way around. If that could be minimized, it would be more user friendly.

! Happy Birthday ! I think that days are like threads that weave our lives into a tapestry. The reds, the greys, the greens, the browns - join into an image only we can build, only we can feel. doc

The site was kind of slow to get loaded and at about shot 37, my system just froze at the "waiting to load" screen (heck, I was just getting to the good part) this may be an internet connection thing or something so I wouldn't worry about that yet. The view control buttons are great, can you move them over to the sides of the images? On some of those long legged girls, I had to move the screen down to be able to get to the buttons. I am lazy. If you managed, in six hours, to teach yourself MySQL, PHP, build these pages and still gawk at 'chelle, you are amazing.

Id call it surreal (don't know how to spell it) or call it "new age" they call everything else "new age" may as well start a photography genre around it. If there isn't one already.

For my 2 cents, and that may be all it's worth, I'd go for digital with as much manual controls as possible. I know a lot of people will swear by film but I think kids especially want to take a lot of shots and film and developing can get quite expensive for what will be mostly thrown away shots.

This is one crazy ass world we live in. I am glad they didn't arrest you and lock you up for such a despicable act.
