Hi, Operaguy.
First ting I can recommend is a graphics card with at least a couple gigabytes of memory built into it. Try doubling your onboard ram as well. 8Gb might be insufficient as Poser in itself is resource-hoggy and does use alot of RAM. Increas your RAM to at least 12 Gb if not 16 Gb. Definitely increase your paging file size and you can set your virtual memory size to about double the amount of RAM you have onboard. Take these few steps and let us know of your progress and the improvements they offer.
Thread: Poser 11 Pro choking (lag) on high MB character figures | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Cool tip. Thanks.
I like DOF since it adds depth to the image, as a DSLR camera would. But I can agree, the pixel sample rate is set high so as to offer crisp, photo-realistic results. However...
What would be the ideal pixel sample rate you would suggest that won't show a noticeable loss in rendered image clarity?

Hi, all.
Please, I apologise in advance if this question has been answered elsewhere in these forums although I did search for some insight to my question before adding to this thread so here goes.
Poser 11 Pro seems to take an incredibly long time now to render a scene with even one figure in it. See image below. I can tell by my CPU and system monitor that Poser is maxing out my CPU usage to what would appear to be way beyond 100% and in many cases Poser slows as it goes through the render process and ultimately can't finish a render. It would just stop.
Intel i7 3.4GHz, Windows 8.1 with all the updates, 16Gb gamer-grade RAM, nVidia 1060 graphics acceleration, solid state HDDs
What might be the remedy and solution to this?
Thanks so much.
Thread: Basic Superfly Render problems. | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
While I'm still getting familiar with the basics of the new Superfly render engine, and so far I've been having some very nice results, still it seems these Superfly renders have a 'bluish' colour cast, even with the reflective and refractive caustics turned off. What might be the cause of the bluish colour cast and what might be the solution to that problem? This is also happening with another friend of mine's Poser 11 Pro.
Thanks.
Thread: Superfly render settings question | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
DocMatter, those suggested settings seem to be a very good place for us newbies to Superfly to start. I've experimented with those initial settings and so far I've been coming up with some pretty decent results and the rendering is fairly fast on my machine using my CPU to render. I found it is better on my machine to use the CPU (i7, 6 core), because Superfly crashes when I choose to use either of my nVidia graphics accelerator cards or both. Whaddayathink might be happening there with the graphics cards and what results have you gotten when choosing your graphics card as opposed to your i7, as I noticed in your screenshot?
Thanks.
Thread: Welcome to the Poser 11 Technical Forum | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Hello everyone.
I recently upgraded to Poser 11 Pro and it appears a small problem that I was dealing with in Poser GameDev, my previous version of Poser, involves progressive rendering in Firefly. In Poser GameDev, if I allowed the progressive render to go completely to the finish, I would merely end up with a render image that was some shade of grey or greyish-brown with alot of square-ish patterns in it but my solution then was to stop the render right before it reached the end and I would have a beautiful progressive render BUT now in Poser 11 Pro, progressive renders malfunction every time, no matter whether I allow the render to go completely through or if I stop the render at any point. Now I get the grey-ish screen with the square-ish patterns in it everytime. What might be causing this malfunction and what might be the solution?
Win7 64 bit, Two nVidia capture cards, 16 Gb RAM
Thanks
