Thread: Vicky into Millie? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a component of Norton Utilities named Fast Find. If you drag any file onto the icon of Fast Find, it opens with the file already selected. One click on the icon with a magnifying glass and you are looking at an ASCII dump of the content of the file. Cmd-A, Cmd-C and you are ready to paste into any text editor that can open an empty document. 4-5 seconds if you have everything lined up. This sort of problem doesn't deserve more of your time. Thank you for using Macintosh.

Thanks, It's all beyond my abilities; but I respect great software hacking. I'm hoping the next release of Poser uses JCM extensively. So the morphs are the hard part. It seems there wouldn't be a lot of overhead in terms of file size.
Thread: textures? a debate... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Misha: What I would add is, don't forget bump maps. They work like textures but act like (wimpy) morphs. huribead@charm.net: in another thread Wyrwulf just posted a link to http://www.kzin.org/poser/index.htm where there is an FAQ that explains UV maps (UV is not XY) Wyrwulf: that's two good links today. Thanks.

If she has to take small steps that's a testament to the model. BTW, have you done or seen anything with Joint Controlled Morphs recently?

Allerleirauh posted that story once (the plot is a little more convoluted than your summary) but hasn't been back since the last regularly scheduled schism. I don't think anybody (Allerleirauh included) has ever done better hair. [apologies all around to anyone who's made hair, that's just MHO]

A Gaussian Blur at <1 pixel will boost the compression at the level you choose. Ummm... that's a rumor I heard on Internet, so FWIW YMMV.

It's hard for me to know if that is a good test. You might have had the brick texture applied to the preview, for instance. This would be a good test: Open Poser -- delete all objects and figures -- go Edit/General Preferences/Set Preferred State -- Quit and relaunch Poser -- go to Render/Materials and click on the Textures popup. I predict the Ground Default Texture will be there 'cause you can't delete the Ground. Then load an untextured object or figure, apply [stucco] and Save, Quit, relaunch, etc.

The textures listed when you first launch Poser are applied to the default figure, any that you add will be gone when you restart. In other words, delete all figures and props, save that as a default and when you relaunch you should only see Ground Default Texture (or something like that).
