Great question. It seems as though my natural talent is in nature and ladscapes but in addition to that I want to shoot artistic nudes. Male, female, couples, whatever. I want to show the beauty of the human form. I had a shoot with a model last week and I have alot of post work to do. I also have a lot of learning to do too! An example is here http://www1.photosig.com/viewphoto.php?id=619493 (Nudity!) I got the film shots back and I have alot more learning to do there too! Other things that I like to shoot are castles and architechture and old buildings. last but not least Cityscapes. But then again If I can see it I want to shoot it! Magick Michael
Thread: OT (Sort of) for Digi Users | Forum: Photography
Hey I said I would pass it on. I did. If you go there you will notice it is focused on Digital photography. Let me ask this, How many here are on only one list/forum? If so, why are you limiting yourself? Honestly I have learned more on this list than any other and I think it is the best forum out there. That doesn't mean I haven't learned anything anywhere else. It doesn't mean that I can't learn from other sources. It only means that when I only have 5 minutes to check forums I check this one. Think about it. Magick Michael

ja, Did your camera come with a USB or Seriel connection to the camera? If the camera could see the images you should have been able to pull them striaght from the camera then after you had them format the card. Magick Mcihael

IMHO I agree that the grain is too noticable. I also wanted to see the colors in the flowers. Fairies are colorful little creatures and I for one like the colors they tend to sprinkle about the world. Magick Michael

Honestly i like the colors ont he first but I am not much into abstract so... The runners though, well i like the shot, it seems bright. I would tone it down a bit. I would disagree with Mike in the fact that if anything I would pan back a bit. this could take care of the brightness depending on the surrounding items, and if they are in the bottom of say a messy closet that would tell a differnt story. Perhaps one would wonder why they haven't been used. But hey what do I know? I am but a poor man that has only cowboy boots!
Thread: My Latest... | Forum: Photography
tricksta, It was easy, I took out my camera, aimed, focused and shot! Actually there is a place near my home where the deer congrerate everyday just before dust. There are salt licks and hay bails there. This guy stayed in the woods all the time. This is one time the salt lick got the better of him and he started out. When he heard something or smelled me he stopped. When he did I took this shot. Taken witht he DSC-F707 exposure of 1/125 and F8. Magick Michael

Another great site to learn. The camera you will want at $500 will depend on the features you want. I use a Sony DSC-F707 and I love it. It is a little slow for sports photography but I keep trying. For everything else I have been more than satisfied. I love the camera. The f717 is basically the same camera but updated. Outside of a rearrangement of the controls I am not sure of the difference. YOu can get a new, but leftover 707 on eBay for about $500-$650. Also www.cnet.com used to have a questioniare that help whittle down your options. If I had only the two choices above I would have to go with #2 Monochromatic Moondance. Interesting and it would show the persons abilities well. My suggestion: Images of Imaging. Shots that represent photography. Tools that we use or shots that show what we do. Perhaps shots of others shooting either street shots or photo journalism... What do our subjets/models see lookking at them? Just my 2 cents. Magick Michael

Well first let me say you have a great camera there! The Sony F707/717 are the best digitals you can get without getting a digital SLR. I Have the 707 and I absolutely love it. The best way to get to know the camera is to use it, use it some more then go out and use it some more. Don't be affraid of the manual settings as they can provide some great effects. And the best thing I have found on the use of the camera is to go out with a small note pad and whenever possible write down the settings you use for each shot. And take a shot with variable settings. That way you can compare the results, kind of like apples to apples. The link above is where I learned alot about the 707 before I bought it. Great resource.
