Btw, I forgot to mention this, but if she's not a pro model, she certainly is a good one...to me, she looks very kind of natural, nice :)

Bsteph, I mean what's your impression overall ? It's scanned from a print, so it's not very sharp, but I was just wonder what you think about the composition (bad, good..should I crop, should I have choosen another detail, zoomed in....or should I have shot more of the car, etc). I'm curious what other people think about the choices I made to take this photo, since I can't really look at this in an objective way cause Ferrari means a lot to me, and most of all every photographer has it's on view on things :) Hope you get the idea. Alpha, hehe, me too ;) Well, yes indeed, it was at a whole Ferrari day at a racing track (Zandvoort), so it's crowded with people are cars. It was hard to shoot anything without people or adds in the background.

Gabe, sorry to hear about the physical limitations....I hope you didn't feel offended. Sometimes I get carried away with all the ideas that I think off when I look at all this nice work =) What I meant was that an autumn scene somehow looks a bit boring, and doesn't do the girl much good. I don't mean that it's not well done, or that the leaves aren't nice....I just think that nature in autumn doesn't need anything else to make it look pretty, and so does that girl :) And two nice things together don't make it twice as interesting ;) Looking at your picture I tried to imagine some unusual locations to shoot a similar shot...like an empty parking lot early in the morning, with the sun coming out on a nice clear day. Or some kind of industrial area with steel, concrete, whatever....something with only huge things, without any small objects in the background. Or for those with enough guts, go to a busy street just before it gets dark (when cars turn their lights on) and stand in the middle of the road, and take pics while she stands still for a sec and the cars will make those white and red lines (not long ones, but like the cars are just not faded out). Know what I mean ? ;) I didn't meant it personally, but just what I'd love to do whever I'd have the chance to work with a model =) Anyway, love to see more photos!

Well done! I was just wondering why all these beautifull girls are shot in the woods ? Do you ever shoot on other scenes ? Would be a shame if you'd never do that.....I don't know a lot of people who have the chance to work with people like that! Anyway, good work =)

Nice shot, Gabe. Here's something I'd love to do, if I had the chance: On a sunny day, wait till the end of the day, when the sun is low. You know, the sunlight will have a warmer kind of yellow, and not so incredibly bright. Go to an open field with high grass, or something that grows where someone like here would stick out of with shoulders/middle...something like that (if it's too low have her sit down, if it's high, stand up...bring something to stand on) :) And then tear down everything close behind her that sticks out too much.....stand back, zoom in with a tele or something, and crop as much background out of the picture as you can, to focus on her (from the top of the grass till above her head, or zoom in on face more if you like), and make sure you're on her height/eye-level.....and make sure the depth of field is as shallow as possible. I'd love to see a picture like that =) But I love yours as well.....seriously!

Mike, Just think about how many times people blink... With a quick shutter speed you'd have like a 25% chance to shoot someone with their eyes closed (25% is just a wild guess, I really don't know :) But anyway, people blink really fast, so with a bit of a longer shutter speed the blink won't be as visible, or at least the chance that you'll capture the exact closing won't be as high as normal. Personally I like shooting walking people with slower speeds, cause the blur a bit....freezing a walking person often looks weird...no motion. Also I think that people who are in a hurry or nervous or whatever blink more than someone who's very relaxed. Also perhaps people who are focused on something blink less. But I'm not really sure....I'd love to know how that works. But anyway, unposed is much better....especially when people, cars, bikes, etc are going sort of the same direction at sort of the same speed, so you don't have to quickly capture that one special moment. Btw, want to share some work with us ? :) Have fun!

I love the textures of the rocks! Btw, I can see two other good pics: Just the rocks on the right, leaving out the distracting stuff in the background (or same, but with shallow depth of field). And a pic of that waterfall in the background....looks awesome too! Damn, I wish I had a spot like that around the corner =) Love to see more of your photos!

Used the wrong words, cause there's nothing wrong with the sepia! :) I just mean that the color is unusual for water and smooth rocks, and that I'd just love to see the original colors. (In my mind brown water gets associated with something dirty) But it's a nice photo anyway =)

Very nice picture, but I think the sepia (?) doesn't do it any good. I'd love to see the original! I bet it's really good! =) Great work - have fun!
