Get UV mapper. Go to the Poser free stuff here at Renderosity and do a search under Utilities.
Thread: Waves | Forum: Bryce
I find that waves are random enough that hand drawing the waves in the terrain editor works well for me. Then I rotate the terrain about 45 degrees and flatten it so it is flattened (but still rotated about 30 degrees).
Thread: I would like to thank those | Forum: Bryce
Thanks Spaz =-) This is a great place for trading ideas, tools and whatnot. I learn a great deal here as well. Sarah
Thread: Lefties unite | Forum: Bryce
In the materials editor, alt click on different channels to get multiple materials on one thing. I'm a lefty and hadn't ever found any difficulty with composition. But all of my Bryce work is done right handed (right handed mousing)

I've never worked with the poser penguin, so I can't give you any advice there. I'll just give a cop-out answer: there's always post production for the wings. Thanks for the killer whale info. =-)

Thread: Why I like Bryce | Forum: Bryce
Don't forget the sky lab! A well made sky, IMHO, can make or break a Bryce image. Even if the sky isn't visible in the final render it will still set the overall tone of the image with how light, shadow and colors react. Then add in some carefully made textures (the DTE rocks!) and a simplistic image can become a show stopper. Sarah
Thread: How to darken the horizon line in Bryce 4? | Forum: Bryce
#1) Change the color of the haze to a darker color #2) Go into the Sky lab (click the rainbow) and turn down the intesnsity of the haze. #3) Or if you don't want any horizon line, set haze to 0 Sarah

Yes. Make sure though (and this is VERY IMPORTANT) that your custom textures (if you use any) are in the SAME FOLDER as the obj when you export it. Otherwise, Bryce will cough up a major hairball when you try to import the obj file. Sarah
Thread: You claim to be artists try something out of the ordinary | Forum: Bryce
My two examples were designed with the 3:1 ratio in mind. The black letter box (filling in the rest of the missing area to fit a 4:3 without showing the desktop) was added in post production. I did not shrink down a 4:3 image to make it look difference. Sarah

If it doesn't need to be animated, do a multireplication in Bryce. 1 small sphere. Edit menu (from the menu bar at the very top) multireplicate 5, -5, 10 5, 10, -5 as settings do it 30 times.

Bovine from Shanghi and Polarity have cinemascope ratios. I "letter boxed" them so that they would fit nicely in the standard computer screen because I wanted to use them as background images for my computer.

Check out the imported objects that come with Bryce. Click on the triangle to the right of the word "Create." That will take you to the OBP preset library. Click on the "Imported Objects" In there you will find a sphere, a cube, a pyramid and many more interesting shapes.

Make the pendant a light gray and the words a dark gray. Keeping the shades closer together will prevent some of that nasty spikey stuff. The less spikey it is, the more readable it will be. Also, make the original image large: 500x500 or larger.
