Oh, BTW, Character Motion (Credo) resell the full cd's but they don't sell individual scenes, nor do they have any freebies. These can be found at The Forge and soon, at Daz3D as well!

There are a good few free files at the home of PoseAmation, http://www.the-forge.ie The link below will take you directly to the online shop. There are a number of hidden free files there to learn from. BTW, I don't know how many have noticed yet, but the woman walking up stairs (one of the most complex scenes) has a free 10 fps version available! Unfortunately, most volume 1 scenes were 100% keyframed after they were completed so that people would be able to alter parts of the scene without accidentally wrecking other parts of the animation. This makes the animation pallet a solid mass which isn't the best for people to learn from. I'm working on a few tutorials at the moment which will include animation files to use as examples. These will be much easier to learn from when you view the animation pallet and the graph. I'll post a notice when the tutorials are ready, I'm really busy at the moment, so it won't be for a little while still. ChrisThread: Position available for model converter | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. However, several other people have responded already by e-mail. Debra Ross is already working on them and flying along! Her work is excellent and it looks as if she will be able to do all three in record time. Bushi better watch out, Debra's in the house!!! :') Chris

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :') Yeah, volume 2 is very, very late. Not 2 years, but near enough. :')

Thread: "Intuitive" 3D apps for beginners | Forum: Animation
Well, if Poser is beyond them, then there is no hope. Poser is the most intuitive animation program around bar none. As for modeling, there are no programs that could be considered A-B-C in simplicity since modeling is intrinsically difficult. The closest thing to easy modeling would be Bryce and Amorphium. Of course, you wouldn't use Bryce for character modeling and amorphium gives limited results. I think that the best trade off for power and simplicity for modeling AND animation (with a fantastic price point) would have to be Animation:Master. It is by no means simple to use but it's powerful, cheap and can do everything. It is also a far site easier to learn than Maya or Max!!! Chris
Thread: How to animate animals (especially horses) with poser4? | Forum: Animation
You can save the horse gallop animation into the Walk Designer library, start the Walk Designer (you may need to restart Poser for it to appear) then select the horse model as the base model and apply the horse gallop to it with the slider. Voila! BTW, PoseAmation 3 will contain a HUGE amount of horse animation!

Not allowed to, I'm afraid. Part of the agreement with 3D Artist. However, it was sold to them as secondary printing rights since I had originall written it for the manual of PoseAmation Volume 2. The onr thing that the 3D Artist article WON'T have is the animated example that goes with the article. It IS included in the HTML manual with PA2. (hint hint) I will write some original stuff for this site. Chris

BTW, I wrote a piece on animating dialogue that will appear in the next issue of 3D Artist, if anyone is interested. Chris

Soon. I'm swamped at the moment but I'll write some tutorials when I have a few minutes to breathe. Chris
Thread: Heeelp Animation Problem Happens alot its driving me crazy! | Forum: Animation
I can't stress enough the importance of having the animation pallet AND the graph open at all times while you're animating. Both of these are essential to accurate animation. Carefully read the manual for the use of these two pallets and practice using them. Set your screen resolution high enough to be able to have both pallets open while you work. The best set-up is to have duel monitors. Fill one monitor with the display window and use the other monitor for all of your pallets. This method also works well with Painter! Good luck! Chris
Thread: Free BVH? | Forum: Animation
I'm in the last few days of work getting my e-commerce set-up finished at PoseAmation. When it's ready, there will be free scenes mixed in with the downloadables. Drop by in a week or so and have a look. I'll post a message here when it's all ready. Chris http://www.the-forge.ie
Thread: MPEG BLUES | Forum: Animation
hmmm... I don't think that you've really looked at Bink if you can claim that Mpeg gives better results. It's just not the case. Mpeg, however, has a much wider audience so it's still the better option for getting people to watch your stuff! Chris

Better still, Click on the figure's hips, open the graph pallet, set the parameter as y trans, make sure that all frames are visible in the window (You can drag the edge of the slider at the botom to fit all of the frames in) click and drag in the graph window to select all of the frames (Not an easy task, maybey they'll add a "select all" button in the future) then put your cursor over the highlighted frames, hold the ctrl key and drag the frames down until the figure is on the ground. This moves the whole figure without destroying the animation. Good Luck! Chris

Cool! I'll have to learn how to use those magnets. It would seem that soft body dynamics are now available to us! Great work. Chris
