Hi dolly how come you need to wait 2 months? You are right Vue 4 is impressive...it's got some minuses but they are quite outnumbered by the pluses. :) Cheers!

Hmmm...5-6 times per day is a LOT compared to other softwares. I run Photoshop and LightWave every day and if you think Vue is a hog think again...LW eats cpu and RAM for breakfast and the more power you throw at it the faster it spits it out. :) It seems that Vue crashes a lot less on my side than yours...in a week it went away 3 times and this is a LOT considering I run other apps for 24h/day and they crash once a month or so. I can't see Photoshop crashing and having bad code as I run it with as much as 1Gb of swap files while manipulating heavy graphics and it never crashed on me. Cheers!

Hi I installed Vue 4 and it is working great for now but it did "hang out" when I tried rendering a Vue 3 scene. Cheers!

There were no lockups...Vue simply dissapeared as if it was never started. :) Win2k never locks up here too in any applications. It might be related to my latest VIA drivers and not even related to Vue I don't know. :) Cheers!

Oh no hehe I won't install SP2 for a while I just have too much softwares that are working perfectly and with my VIA based mobo it's best to stay away from anything that might conflict with it. :) I just got Vue 4 WOOHOO!!!!! hehe couldn't resist! :) Cheers!

Hi Laurie, I use Vue 3.1 as 3.0 wouldn't even load with win2k. :) I will wait for Vue 4 to see if it's rectified. Cheers!

Salut Koncz, (my message will be in french so that koncz understands how it can be done): Ce que Mike veut dire c'est que tu peut pas ouvrir un .VOB avec 3D Exploration mais tu peut importer des modeles de differents formats dans 3D Exploration et les exporter dans le format .DXF ou .OBJ et la tu va pouvoir les importer dans Vue 2.1 :) Hope it helps. Cheers!

This is one amazing shot! :+D I really love the caustics in it and all the textures are impressive. I will have to take a lot of coffees before doing an underwater scene like that! :) Cheers!

Sigh here too...I hope to get my copy Monday! Like I said, I think I will get Vue at the same time as 2 other softwares I am waiting for...this won't be good for next week's sleeping sessions! :) Cheers!
Thread: some improvements after 4 days with Vue :) | Forum: Vue
Thanks Sharen, You don't have Vue yet? I think you bought Vue 4 though right? I had great doubts about Vue since I tried version 1 a long time ago but it's now a quite powerful piece of cg software and definately much more friendly than WCS which costs a lot more. Oh! can anyone tell me if Vue 4 will get Mars DTM import capabilities? This would be quite amazing, I love Mars scenes but I guess I can use TG and For Exports Only to import them in Vue 4. :) Cheers!

Thanks! :) Yes it is my very first days with Vue and I am using Vue 3.1. In fact I played with it for about 48 hours now. :) I like the manuals but they could be a lot better. They did allow me to learn quite a few things though. Check out this variation of the mountlake shot (follow the link). Cheers!Thread: Got Vue 3, now awaiting Vue 4 :) | Forum: Vue
Thanks guys, I totally forgot about Wilbur, I have it on my PC but it was collecting dust! ;+) About Ozone it's sort of pricey for just compositing atmospheres, there should be another way via the Vue Alpha renders no? I didn't see any infos on how Ozone interacts with Vue...but anyways I will wait and see because Vue 4 will cost about 200$ CDN in total while Ozone is almost 400$. :) Thanks for the infos though. Cheers!

Aaargh! I use 30m and 10m DEM files only! But I know there is a way to save TG terrains as BMP's with a plugin I will try it out. :) Cheers!
