I second the Poserworld suggestion add one for RDNA. -Nancy.Thread: I need a man.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd advise that you go with M2 also but it's a tough time right now - we are betwixt and between Michaels - so don't wait too long :) dirk5027 - I can now say I disagree with you about the V3 Male but I did have the hardest time finding the 'right' look. Obviously, like women, men and 'maleness' come in A-Z forms but I had a hard time finding a specific look. I had a sort of epiphany while working on a recent texture package and have changed my mind. V3's male morphs are very workable for a whole variety looks but you have to work at it. RDNA does have probaby the highest ratio of good V3 Male related stuff in a variety of categories, though. There are some excellent morph and texture packages. Scathdebas - good luck! Regards, Nancy.
Thread: Quick update | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
pdxjims: It's good to get an update and please know that you and your family are in my thoughts. The next time your relatives introduce you to a "corn fed pretty girl" just ask if she's willing to be a surrogate mother because you and your partner want a baby. You might want to be twirling a turkey baster in one hand as you ask. On the other hand, if Indiana girls do 'pack a mean punch', you may wish to reconsider :) Regards, -Nancy.
Thread: What do you look for in a character/texture package? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It doesn't matter to me what or who it looks like. What matters most is that the character has a 'back story'. The 'whys'. If you look at the best of the best, you can see it without even knowing you've seen it. There are some technically excellent character packages out there but when I look at them, I have no clue as to who they are or why they look the way they do. I know this sounds a bit ephemeral but it's much more imporant to me than style (punk, goth, etc) or decoration (makeup, tattoos). Put personality first and the rest will follow. On a technical note - I do really look for interesting and varied skin tones - changing skin tone in the materials dialog just doesn't cut it - and interesting facial structure. I would be a REALLY happy camper with an eyebrow-optional head texture and a variety of brows. They make a huge difference in customizing a character. -Nancy.

That's awful and I'm sorry. It happened to me a little over a year ago on my laptop due to a head crash. Because it was work-related, I took it to a data recovery vendor and they were able to bring back about 95% of what was on my harddrive. I got to expense the $600 it cost, because it was business but it would have cost many times more to recreate the work I'd done in the week between backups. -Nancy.
Thread: Another Poser to Bryce problem.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
BigNick - Do a web search for all of the words "Poser Bryce Import". You should find more than a few decent tutorials. Some are generic and some are Millennium character-specific. Once you have the 'recipe' down, it's not so angst-making. -Nancy.

Oh yeah - Check out the 2-piece "Hot Thing" set at RDNA :) if you've not already seen it. -Nancy.Thread: WARNING!!! IMPORTANT INFO FOR NEWLOOK DAZ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Orio - I much prefer 'boudle-tested' it is so strange that I bet I can use it in a meeting and everybody will nod their heads sagely. I know nothing about their conversion but I know alot about conversions and switch-overs in general and sometimes you can't afford the resources to run concurrent systems and sometimes you do EVERYTHING right and it still gets screwed up. I definitely feel their pain... -Nancy.
Thread: I was told to post this here.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the credit tasquah, but SnowSultan did all the hard work (in PS7), I just 'translated' them to PS6. He did a great job - they come in very, very handy. -Nancy.
Thread: OT, slightly.... Should I get JASC PSP 7? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Although I use both, I've got to give a big YES for PSP. Upgrade to 7 or look at your upgrade options from 5.5 to the new version (8). The interface is much better than PS and the toolset is excellent. If you were planning on working in a pro graphics environment, I'd say you'd have to get and learn PS, it's kind of the 'lingua franca' but otherwise, go with PSP. Version 8 has added scripting, improved the vector tools and the masks/layers features and I'm very happy with it. Other than 'Layer Styles', I haven't found anything that I truly prefer in PS over PSP. -Nancy.
Thread: Is This Possible For V3 Morphing Dress? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, a WIP image would help. I've spent many hours posing the dress and several hours of quality time with the cape and might be able to help. A few bits of advice about the dress - also applies to the cape: 1. It's not a bad idea to lock V3's hip before posing. 2. Pose V3 THEN load and conform the dress. 3. Use the movement/shape dials in the "Body" group after conforming. Every thing from "Expand" down in the "Body" group is garment shape or movement. 4. Do your final tweak of shape/movement with the body handle. 5. Turn ON "Full Tracking" when using the "Skirt" (or any) body handle and use the dials to position instead of dragging on the handle. 6. Remember to turn OFF "Full Tracking" when you're through. :) OH - Last thing - sometimes I just hide everything from the buttocks down or through shin on V3 if the character's wearing shoes. OOPS - This is the last thing... really. If the dress has a transmap that affects the skirt, it helps to turn if off if you've got a particularly thorny pose to work on. Just re-apply the original MAT pose when you're done. Hope this helps. Regards, Nancy.
Thread: Morphing Necktie for Mike? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The secret is that the Daz necktie from the M2 clothing package is a simple but sentient being whose neural programming is focused towards driving me nuts (Paranoid? Not me!). I'd love to find a necktie that really works - with morphs for ties from narrow to a 70's "Oh-my-god that's a wide tie"! and appropriate tight to loose morphs. -Nancy.
