There are a couple of menus at the top that select the material, form what I remember, each dress can have more than one material , mayb eyou had the button material selected ... theres also an option to copy current material to all body parts that may help... good luck. Barrie.

I'm off to bed, I appreciate all your help.. I think I'll leave it as a bad idea for now though so dont worry about it. Best wishes. Barrie.

Pearce, yes its horrible, Ive wasted about 8 hours on this problem.. the thing is Im sure theres a simple maths formula for it so there must be a simple model ( in my picture i started with 2 tubes brown and white, twisted them by 180 degrees as a pair then split them apart and played, with mirroring rotating on different axis... lol ,, i think itd take me 1000 yrs to brute force the solution) Although modeling hair was the intention originally hair is a side issue now :) however it'd be nice for UV mapping to start off with 3 tubes each strand could be individually coloured and textured (bumps and transparency) easily. I'm realy just looking for one cycle of the pattern on 3 tubes. (the fact that i could eventually be hair is a side issue at the moment) .. Best wishes. Barrie.

Shanna, wow... thanks for all the info, I didnt know there was so much to it.. I think I am just trying to make a "basic 3 - strand" (thanx for the excelent link BTW). As far as actually modeling proper hair goes, thats jumping the gun a bit for me , but I'll keep your tips as reference (in case i finally solve ... ) I just really need the no thrills way of getting my 3 tubes to mesh properly through one cycle (which presumably I can then just copy and paste , it seems pretty much periodic)... I did tried making the braid with 3 wires stuck together, it was easy :) .. lol .. the modeling is still confusing me though, I think its the restrictions of modeling apps more than anything else, if you could in real time , tug and pull on flexible tubes and have them do collision detection and not intersect each other then I could prob do it, but all I have is the Twist Modifier :( Thanks for all the info .. Barrie.

Hi, someone else said helixes, but I dont think they fit, at least not with 3 strands, 2 are easy I can just use a twist modifier (in 3ds) to twist 2 tubes around x degrees.. I guess I should of pointed out I need 3 strand braids, Ive actually made them up with some string, and the individual threads dont seem to be helical at all.. oops, forgot to say that 3ds does have helix primative spline.. but I gues syou guessed that :).. helical is fine for 2 , but not 3 :( it seems

Thread: Seeking help on Kozaburo's Mayadoll hair.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think hair-FIT poses are just for fitting pre existing hair figures or props to the right scale etc for maya.. ie .. you need to own the original hair first to be able to use a FIT pose... if you read the docs, itll prob tell you which hair the poses are for... thanx for the link BTW, i didnt know about it. best wishes.
Thread: please advise---morph goes nuts??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had this porblme so many times ;( .. or at least somehting simmilar... your vertex ordering is getting confused in the modeling application you are using. The vertex ordering of the .obj you use for the MT HAS to have the same order as the original.. how to get over this ? I guess it depends on what modeler you are using ? .. Best Wishes.
Thread: Is Morph geometry still needed once it has been added it Original object? | Forum: Poser Technical
Once you add the .obj as morph targets, then saved out as a character , then the cr2 (character) file holds the morph targets so you dont need the .obj files any more , as far as I know. I would guess the cr2 file and the original .obj geometry file and also any materials , are what you would package. Look at how others do it.. in a zip file just recreate the directory structure of poser .. Best wishes, Barrie.

Hmmm, this is difficult, Im not used to giving reasons for why I like something and why I dont, so I won't :) ... 3pts Azha 2pts OblivionBlack 1pt Pyrographer (there are at least 4 others that I want to give points to though :( ... )
Thread: v3-m3 head vertices welding question???? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Give up is my advice. Sorry just being realistic.. This is crossposted in the 3DS forum so anyone guessing .. using 3DS Max. The chances of you being able to use the morpher after you have deleted vertices is slim, the morpher relies on, not only the same vertex number , but the same ORDER. Personally I think this is a tricky one although it sounds easy. Good luck!. Barrie

Thanx for the help Stewer, I replied earlier today, but looks like my post was eaten. I'll do what you suggest and have a play around. Ill probably be back in a few days when I get stuck, till then : thanx again. Best wishes , Barrie.
