I am also beginning to wonder if it is free as I have installed the program but it keeps asking me to select my prefered licence choice which has three choices of $49, $99, or $299 so I am getting a little confused about this.

Personally I would get in touch with the artist in question and ask if I can create a reproduction of his work using the program of my choice and ensure the artist that the final render will not be used on a commercial basis.
It is better to ensure that all is OK before proceeding. If it is not OK then you could always just use the experience for your own personel collection without release on the basis of satisfying your will to learn new ideas that you could use within your own personel renders. Afterall.. all artists have developed their skills by copying those that inspire them and then used what they have learned to enhance their own projects.
Thread: What is the best way to upgrade from 2.49 to 2.56? | Forum: Blender
You can do it either way. I tend to just download the update and install it directly which in turn installs directly over the older version.

Probably the best alternative for me but then they would be arguing as to wether or not it would be worth the money involved LOL.

I used to excercise a lot such as bodybuilding and powerlifting but when I turned 23 I was diagnosed as epileptic and so had to stop everything, including working for a living.
The epilepsy was caused by a tumor in the left temporal lobe of my brain. The tumor was removed but sadly did not cure the epilepsy 100% resulting in myself unable to even earn through working because of insurance levels (I am considered to high risk).
As a result I looked for an alternate way to fill my day which made me look back at my love for music and art resulting in my present state of filling my days with the piano/computer music and real world art and 3d etc.
It just stops me from going nuts and gives me a challenge and also it makes me very happy when a project is succesful.

Sadly no bryce at the moment but a bryce7pro version is in the pipeline. Just trying to figure out how to keep the file size down as low as possible.

Thread: Carrara or Poser For Animation? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - carrara better for creating/rendering animations IMVHO. however, carrara 7 pro costs $15 (on DVD in recent issue of 3DWorld), hence suggest you get that, then wait for poser 9, as poser 8/pp2010 have rendering problems. poser 7 much worse renderer than poser 8.
I would agree too. I also find that carrara is great for developing a more realistic render though I do know others would argue the fact. Even if you decide to go for carrara you can still use poser content within it but you cannot use carrara .car content within poser so I also say why not use one that is compatile with both.
Thread: Software Advice for a newbie hobbyist. | Forum: 3D Modeling
"Hexagon" from Daz is a good modeller and I feel is reasonably priced also more user friendly than "Blender".. Even though I too am going through the process of learning "Blender 2.5" there are still still areas that I turn to "Hexagon" for, but I think that is primarly because I am still in the learners stage regarding "Blender"
Thread: What keeps you motivated? | Forum: 3D Modeling
Love... Yes that's right, pure and simple love for what I do. I have a passion during creation and an even greater passion when I use the model within a scene render or I see others use my models within their renders... So it has to be love on my part.

Thanks for the note Mark.
He deserves to be highlighted and I have added him to my favourites.
