Quote - I have been trying to upload an image with my own thumbnail. I think the size of the thumbnail is ok. It does not give any error message, but the image always ends up with the autogenerate thumbnail.
Maybe the problem is that when you edit the entry, it shows you the whole image as the thumbnail, but it really has the thumbnail you uploaded. Note sure what happens if you save the edit though.

Quote - Mark -- so that's Dawn, naturally, with Leiko hair? I'll see if I have that hair -- I'd like to get that look. :-)
I used the V4 version (not the Genesis) of the Leiko hair. It does not auto fit. It just loads into the scene. I then partented it to Dawns head and moved it to 0,0,0 and zeroed out all rotation. That was still not in the right place. I think I had to move it forward in Z in DAZ. I just positoned it manually.
I firsted tried to use the Genesis version of the Leiko hair, but it tried to autofit, which it could not, and then lost all the hair morphs. By using the V4 version, there was no attempt at auto fit, and after manually parenting it, I still had all the morphs.
I'm not sure you would describe this "naturally with Leiko hair."

You did a great job with her face.
Thanks. Your renders are great too.
Thanks, mark, but I love the way you narrowed Dawn's face. :-)
I think it is a combination of the Leiko hair and the pose that does that. I really like the Leiko hair, and this is probably part of the reason why.

Here is my first render attempt. Dawn seems a little apprehensive about all the attention she is getting.

I managed to get Dawn in the shoping cart, enter all the credit card info, and hit the place order button. I got an error message. A few minutes later I got a confirmation email, so apparently the order went through.
The download link just gives errors though.
I think it was my order that crashed the site.

Quote - Where is Dawn being released? I am confused if she is going to be here at Rendo,RNDA, or HiveWire or somehwre else? Cheers
I believe Dawn herself will be released at HiveWire. Rendo and RNDA as well as HiveWire and maybe other stores will be releasing Dawn compatible products at the same time.
Atleast that is my understanding. Will have to wait and see.

Quote - i think the Gen2 female and V6 in particular need some postproduction work on the eye ,more than V4 and gen1
For now using defaut shaders (like Bree one or V6 one) the eyes seems unnatural, a little bit strange
I have definitely seen this problem with the V6 eyes and not so much with the default Gen2 female eyes. I started a thread on the DAZ forums about it, but didn't get much response. I'm glad someone else has noticed.
I have stopped using the V6 eyes, but replacing them is a little tricky. Gen2 has an EyeReflection surface and the default V6 material attempts to add some reflections in the EyeReflection surface which IMHO are part of the problem. When you use a preset to change the eyes, they don't change the EyeReflection surface. You need to go set the opacity and reflection strength back to 0% on the EyeReflection surface to get ride of the reflections manually.
I think the SSS is also way to high in the eyes of the default V6 texture. The eye textures already have the SSS effects built into them. If you change eyes though, most of them are using shaders without SSS, so changing eyes fixes that part of the problem.
Even after fixing the EyeReflection layer and the SSS, the V6 eyes don't look good at some distances. The irisis seems to fade into the white of the eye too much. I think this is a problem with the eye texture. If you fix the EyeReflection surface and uses eyes from some other character, they will render like you expect the eyese you are using to render.

My experience is that render times are less in 4.6 than they were in 4.5 for the same scene and lighting.
Render times depend a lot on how you do the lighting and how much transparency is used in the scene. Some hair can slow down rendering a lot. Some other objects with a lot of transparency can slow do your render.
How are you doing lighting? What is in the scene?
