Thread: Attention Sara Fan Club members | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There may well have to be new textures created as this is now a CR2 file with a geometry file. I will test that out and supply a template if I need to.

Thread: Convert 3DS Max files to Poser??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You will need to convert the MAX file to a 3DS file or OBJ file. If you have 3D Studio Max then you can download HABWARE's MAX2OBJ plugin.
Thread: Is there a way to turn a multi-piece outfit to 1? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In a word... no. The only way would be to export each clothing part to a 3d modelling program and combine them into one mesh, import it back into poser and reconform it. I wouldn't if I were you.
Thread: Max UVW maps into Poser...how??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try this. Download the free MAX plugin called "texporter", you will have to do a google search and that should solve this problem... I think. Cheers NeilP
Thread: Importing 3DS Max file into Poser 5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If you have a .MAX file you will need 3DStudio MAX to load it before you can export to a .3DS file. Sorry I don't know of any other program that can load a .MAX file other than 3D Studio.
Thread: Help Converting M3 Tunic to M2...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't know anything about the clothing convertor but I know that the area affected is not grouped to any bone. If you have Poser 5, take the Tunic into the setup room and have a look in the "NO BONE" group. If anything shows up in red the it is not grouped to a bone. hope this helps. NeilP
Thread: need help with 3ds import to poser pro | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
3DS to Poser import and export. You will need to download Habware's MAX2OBJ Plugin for your version of 3D studio. This plugin is free. Once you have the plugin follow these steps. To Export from 3D Studio. 1. Select the mesh you want to export and from the file menu choose "Export selected" 2. Choose OBJ format from the file of type drop down list and name the file. That's it. Have Fun NeilP
Thread: Dual Monitor Problems | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As a programmer I can tell you that the coordinates of certain objects in any program are stored in Registry or Ini files or XML files etc. When Windows determines these coordinates it cannot compensate for the dual monitor display. ie. If I program something to start at Screen centre... which screen does windows choose... That's right, the primary one. The left edge of your primary screen is treated as position 0 therefore all the coordinates for your secondary screen are minus figues. To wrap up, it's all screwed up and there isn't a lot you can do about it... and believe me, I've tried.
Thread: Trouble with dynamic clothing prop texture in P5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It looks as though the normals aren't consistent and some are back facing. As a test you could export the prop as an OBJ file and re-import it checking the box that says "Make normals consistent" and see if it still does the same thing.
Thread: OHH POSER artists.....did you know we are not artists? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The day I let someone like Becca Cox tell me what art is and how it should be created is the day hell will freeze over. Art is Art and it doesn't matter how it is created.
Thread: Need a little help. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Open the character file (.cr2) in wordpad and have a look at the line stat has the path to the geomtry file. This should tell you where it is looking for the OBJ file.
Thread: Creating clothing | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
First of all, welcome to the community. To create clothing for Poser characters you will need a 3D modelling program such as 3D studio Max, Rhino or Maya or even one of the freely downloadable ones like "Wings 3D". Model the clothes as a mesh and import them into Poser. From there you can make your clothing Conforming or Dynamic. I suggest you read the tutorials available on Making conforming clothes and start from there.
Thread: Lock prop to hands of two figures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A prop can only be parented to one figure so it is not possible for two figures to ahave a prop locked. It is posible to fix your show problem though. Parent the shoes to the figure of your choice and then save them as a prop. When saving your will be asked if you want to save the shoes as a smart prop... say yes. Next time you use the shoes they will automatically parent themselves to your figure.
