I tried it with a bunch of primitives as well as random other props (glasses, houses, etc.)
None of them worked.
Even edited "min" settings in the pp2 files manually, but to no avail.
It looks like the scale "min 0.100" setting is hard coded in PP2014.
Didn't try in PP2012 or earlier versions yet because I don't have them installed on this new machine already.

B.t.w., excellent job you did on M4/V4!
I know an artist who creates all his male characters using V4 as base mesh, and those "males" look bloody more realistic than many M4 based characters and their "Hulk" body shape XD

Nevermind Byrdie,
in the next thread the OP probably will order us to submit renders of "Beautiful Poser Women Hand Smashing Flies" - but - only the left hand shall be visible, and no elbow at all because that offends him.
But I could be wrong - maybe he'll order renders of a knee from behind, with a spider crawling across "but the girl is not bothered".
WEll, I am "not bothered" for sure.
[edited for personal attacks]
Instead, what slighly bothers me is, what potential newcomers might think about the Rendo forum if they come here, and the first thread they stumble upon is one of these... I, for my part, would think: "All Idjits here! What was the name of the other Market Place? I think I'll rather go there..."
But then of course, this forum appears to have become a dump where "everything goes". I miss the place it was once, where I learnt so much, and where great Poser artists and tutors used to post.
Ah, memories...
This was my first and last post in any of Dasilva's threads.
All others, have fun rendering to Dasilva's orders!
Over & Out.
regards,
Peter

"what's "THAT...-P-" mean ?"
That's a missing line break. It should read:
"THAT...^

and -P- is short signature for "Peter"

QUOTE LaurieA:
Asymmetry is a problem with Poser. I doubt the model was built asymmetrical, however I know from personal experience and other top vendors I've spoken to in the past, that Poser will randomly knock a model out of symmetry depending on how the model is saved into the library. It happens in very small increments and in various ways, and not all the time. It's been an on-going issue for many versions that makes content creation all the more frustrating, that S-M has yet to fix or even acknowledge.
I've seen this firsthand. Seen things that I KNOW where symmetrical were not once they were run thru Poser. AFAIK, its been a problem since at least Poser9/PP12.
END QUOTE
Laurie, Poser sometimes saves out a mesh obj. file when you save a figure to the library, even when there's no need to do so. But when you reload that figure, it will load the other .obj file instead of the original one, and I think that's how errors accumulate.
Poser has problems with saving very small numbers like 0.00001 and often "rounds" these: I think that's the source of the problem.
So check your .pz3 or .cr2 file for mesh reference, and change it back to the original mesh .obj file instead of what Poser created.
This is actually one annoying "feature" of Poser:
I could understand it if the grouping, or texture groups, were changed... But with an unchanged mesh I see no reason for such behaviour (except annoying us, creating errors like you described, and also eating up disk space for every new iteration of the same character, by saving a new mesh .obj file for every single iteration).

Thread: Shader challenge for Poser! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sounds interesting.
I remember I once read in a thread about a procedural skin texture, and I tried it for myself.
I'm getting bloody natural results with tweaking texture maps to almost photorealistic renders (if the maps are good), but I never got satisfactory output from that procedural skin shader.
I think skin tissue is just too differing (especially in the face) to have a "one shader covers it all" solution.
Like, the eyelids have a much finer pores etc. than the cheeks. Maybe this could be minded by using various overlays, but my guess is that the resulting shader tree would be overkill...
Of course, I'm no Bagginsbill - just my own experience here. I'm sure that people with bigger skills than mine might find a solution - so it's a good challenge.
We can all but learn!

Good Lord! That mesh makes me nauseous even by looking at it! :D

So I am posting a challenge to the creator. Post a symmetrical wire frame, and I will rig it and post the CR2.
But, you also have to give the character away from that point on, and refund everyone that bought the sad attempt your selling now.
END QUOTE
I don't think this will happen.
This figure clearly was released to earn money, so maybe it'd be a better idea to charge Sixus for the rigging (if he ever accepts your offer), and then let him sell his "Scarlet SR1" for the benefit of us all.
I don't think that this will become freeware once the issues have been fixed - precisely because they were fixed!

@ moriador:
Well, that's the result when one uses tri's instead of quads in modeling... and then doesn't check the output.
I also do have a couple of such unuseable models in my collection; mostly freebies though.

Thread: Calculation order - morphs at joints | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not sure whether I understood that correctly.
However it could explain a lot of little nags I had with FBMs and JCM morphs. I'm currently experimenting with my figure to sort it all out, but it's very confusing, especially when it comes to mirroring a morph across the limbs.
So, I guess that "shape" morphs should go -before- the rotations, and JCMs driven by the bending or whatever, should go -after- the rotations?
At least it already helped me to fix the JCM morphs for "Shin bend", even thoough there are still some odd vertices oout of whack.
But this could be as well because it's V4, and her non-symmetrical mesh...
If I find out something, I'll let you know - please do the same if you do.
Thank you!
Peter

The Subdivide Button!
Duh! That is all I was asking for. I didn't realize it's a button, and now I feel rather goofy.
Thanks for pointing this out moriador!

Thread: Is there a way to import DS morphs into Poser 10 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Boni, good point you made here:
As far as I know the meshes are the same for both versions. It's only the scripting for the implementation of the morphs etc. which differs (and the rigging, of course, but that doesn't affect morphs unless they are JCM fix morphs... but that wasn't the question anyway).
So when reduced to the raw morph data, it still should be the same for both versions.

Oups!
I forgot to mention that you'll have to create the morph channel in Dawn before using the injection:
Use "Spawn Morph Target" from the Menu and name it exactly like your morph injection specifies in the "targetGeom" line - that would be "newMorph" in my previous example.
THEN inject the morph.

Sorry for the lacking indents in the code of previous post, but I just couldn't get them to work for me.
Fortunately Poser gives a damn about indenting or lack of it (unlike Python <--grrrr)
