Thread: A Question About the New Poser 5 EULA | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
no I went over it with a friend who is a lawyer and he agrees that the only copywrites they are protecting is the ones for the files that come directly with the program not for content that is origonaly produced or even derivative content that is spelled out in section J of the EULA the following section also states that camera and lighting settings (and by extention poses)can also be distributed and sold but not copywrited. other then those exceptions in no way does it limit your right to copyright your origonal content. you cannot copywrite the CR2 format but you can copywrite the origonal content it contains just the same as you cannot copywrite a piece of paper but you can copywrite the origonal words and images on it.

Thread: poser 5 and crosstalk ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes Kupa did say that crosstalk was fixed. and no matter what you think of the registration, the EULA is nothing to worry about, as I mentioned in another thread the new EULA gives you the same rights you have always had to distribute content.

and it goes on to say that morphs, origonal textures, hair, and props, and charicters derived derived from those restricted files are free from restriction as long as you don't distribute the original restricted obj or cr2. really it is all spelled out clearly if you look carefuly
Thread: A Question About the New Poser 5 EULA | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
IF you read the Eula carefuly they only restrict the distribution of included files in those formats, not created files! there is no mention of any restriction of files in those formats not created by CL or their vendors.
Thread: A Question About the New Poser 5 EULA | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Kupa has stated that the wording of the eula is to protect CL not from product venders, (who have full distribution rights to Cr2s for their own products) but from the possibility of competing companies using CL's propietary formats to create a direct competitor to Poser.

Guys' don't forget the node-based material shaders. that may be the stelth feature that makes this version of poser a must have for illustrators. I didn't get this feature at first but after reading over the manual a couple times I want this more then almost anything else. look at the skin node for example, adjustable translucency! the reason I suppport CLs registration scheme is Photoshop does anyone wonder why the most popular and widely used graphics program costs 800 dollars and adobe has miserable margins? casual pirates! I know dozens of people who have photoshop on their computers and and none of them paid anything for their copys in fact several offered to load their copys onto my computer suplying the password that was supplied to them. I cant afford to buy the retail version of Photoshop but I'm quite happy with my $89 PSP7 I turned them down. these people didn't buy cracked versions most of them wouldn't know where to look or would be too nervous of downloading a virus instead of a crack. CL is not doing anything that most other software companies won't be forced into doing in the near future.

Yup, you can leave everything where it is if you want and just switch librarys on the fly.
Thread: Question for CL - P5 Multiple Runtimes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I may be wrong but if the root were defined as a named file (such as 'poser4') then subdirectories would work in P4 and they don't, more likely the root is defined as relative to the current file (such as root=4 levels down) as I said it seems to work the same as html. perhaps that will be different in P5
