Les, while multiple layer subdirectorys are concevably possable you run into the same problem as I stated above the cr2 would have to be edited to point to a new relative obj location. that's the problem with all interdependent file types when they arn't stored in the same folder.
Thread: Question for CL - P5 Multiple Runtimes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Phoenixamon Ultimately the P5 solution is just a "kludge" as you say it, as well, unfortunately the situation is the same as web design, just like CR2's,and other Poser file formats there are many times that you have to edit hyperlinks and image locations with multi level websites, If you think of cr2 as web pages you can see the problem, move a file and you may change the relative location of it's Obj.

CL knows that people will upgrade their systems on occasion. as I said before, this question came up in another thread and starlit said resetting the counter would be as simple as contacting them. there will also be a grace period on new instalations to give plenty of time for registration.

This is why P-booost is so handy and why many people may choose to use it, even with the new multiple runtime capabilitys in P5. becouse the geomitry folder is in the runtime folder the only solution without copying multiple obj's would be to edit all your CR2s to point to a central runtimegeomitries folder. the other option and the one I will probably use is to seperate the runtimes by figure, ie; MIKERuntime, VICKIRuntime, P4Runtime...

Realy LOGO, sorry about your cousin, but if the mere mention of murder gets you so upset you must not get out of the house much, Kblade was just Illustrating what they feel is the rediculousness of the argument. As I have stated before compare CL's EULA whith that of any commercial software company out there and you will find it far less limiting in it's language. It's not just greed, it's a matter of simple survival. CL is a small company if they let everyone freely distribute copys to friends and coworkers they will not make enough to survive. it is very much about piracy otherwise they wouldn't say you can load it onto more then one computer for your own use. as I said most software doesn't even allow that, look at your windows EULA sometime.

EricofSD, Who said you can't put it on your laptop as well. the EULA is quite generous on that matter and it was stated that you can get at least three response codes befor red flags come up at CL. and even then the counter can be easily reset with a phone call or email to cust, service (I believe it was starlet who stated that). realy people are jumping to conclusions here, why not wait a few weeks and find out directly from those who preordered if you are hesitant. I preordered and intend on installing on both my home and work computer so will let you know (by the way I also went out and got WinXP the first day it came out and was never unhappy with my decision.

Marque I think those letters are to people who ordered their copys from secondary companys not directly from CL. I got no letter either. Kendra a site license is nessasary for multiple users not for one user who will be loading the program on more then one computer for their own use. It states clearly In the eula that it is acceptable to load one copy of a program onto multiple computers as long as only one is being run at a time.
Thread: Poser 5 release date | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
CL said that P5 is due to be released by the 15th and that is as solid a release date as I have ever seen from a software company. seriously I can't understand the grumbling, as for the autorization system it was spelled out quite clearly by anthony from CL a few days ago.

How about a "copy to" option that would not remove the files from the runtime folder but copy them to the folder of choice this would be great for those of us who render in bryce or other 3d programs?
Thread: PBM dials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
We have to have pbm's becouse poser figures are not one single mesh but a collection of meshes and for every full body morph you have to have a series of individual morphs one on each body part mesh that is affected. the full body morph just controls all the pbm's grouped under it. the pbm dials can be hidden but not removed, I personaly find pbm dials handy at times when i want to modify a full body morph slightly.

Poserworld (rena's site) is well worth the subscription price and they have wonderful oriental clothing as well as tons (can I say tons about digital products?)of other stuff that makes the subscription price seem paltryThread: Adding props to Poser 5 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
P5 will be able to axcess external runtime directories so you won't have to move your present directory at all if you don't want to. as to how well P5 deals with sorting files to their proper folders I believe content paradise is supposed to do that but we'll find out soon enough.
