I've been going back to lisa B's Maria for a while now and will probably purchase that. such versitility for 16 bucks? how can you go wrong? but it's true a good authentic photorealistic Black texture would be nice. I'd buy that for versatility. anyone for nubian maiden in temple with spear?

I like bobasaurs idea, putting obj and textures into one folder would help us Bryce renderers too

I weep for our meloncholy heros. C'mon D'Orque save the day, smite the userpers, smash em and trash em and grind em into do.... Um Uh sorry D'Orque I already ordered P5

as was said in previous posts It depends on your previous history, I come from an art backround and from my point of view poser and even bryce were dead easy, but try and get me into excel and I'll run screaming for the hills. and don't even get me started on that black hole they call DOS. :)

your bowling ally is great but I'm with ockham, think back ally. your trash reigns supreme as far as useful freebes go, probably the best and most innovative freebes I've see in a long time. do some grimy city street scenes and some more trash and pack it all including all your freebes onto a CD and you got a sure winner. I'd buy it. I think with the new p5 features fewer people will be taking their figures out of Poser to other programs to landscape and render. Hell, now that i think of it by that logic you should go ahead and release the bowling alley if you are going to make it anyway you can put it at a low enough price to make it worthwile to many. I think I'd buy it just to support your freebes
Thread: Poser 4 models in Poser 5? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
from what Kupa said I gather that only the face room will be incompatable with older models and it was stated that after market companies could work with CL to even make that compatable with their models, hopefuly DAZ and DSI got the hint.
Thread: order Poser 5 sure... but what to do with Poser 4 ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
there's nothing in the ula that indicates that you can't keep two versions of poser on one machine you just can't network or let some one else use one version while you are using the other so according to the ULA the donation to school idea is officialy forbidden though the powers that be may decide to allow that as starlet said.

in that case I would agree with thgeisel your problem is OS I upgraded from 98 to Xp and had no problems, and both poser and bryce ran tons faster. Im not sure what you might think is incompatable but you may be surprised, and in my experience XP has been rock solid, something I cannot say about 98

considering that XP and P5 have similar hardware requirements I wouldn't upgrade to P5 unless your hardware can handle XP. the firefly renderer will likely be far more processer intensive then the present one (thus the inclusion of the P4 renderer)

thanks Rena the new suff looks as good as ever. I've been drooling over those new sets since Steve showed them off here, and now that P5 is in sight I have a feeling that many more of us will be spending more time in the poser rendering environment.

unintuitive? compaired to what i'd like to know? I started my graphics experience with programs such as illustrator and photoshop, those programs I found unintuitive, seemingly hundreds of those little tiny buttons with obscure graphics and most of the modeling software is worse. I'm with sharen, reading a 300 page manual is a small price to pay for mastery of a program and anyone would benifit from doing so with almost any program, saying that I created passable images even before reading the manual.

I do hope the manual will be explaining all this coz Anistropic Specular shader means nothing to me.

hay duane if it werent for those lousy p4 heads we wouldn't have your great p4 charicter morphs. think of it as your first P5 challange, do for the actual model what you did for the picture and I will be the first to download it, and give Kudos.
