OK here's the deal. I read through the whole front page of this thread and then skipped to the end so I could post so I apologize if this seems out of context.Â
First thing... Most times when I make my images I WILL start out with a library pose to get a general idea of where I'm going. When I see certain things in my mind as to how I would like it to turn out, its not so easy for me to turn it into reality. So on that note I believe that people do deserve some small amount of praise for coming up with a nice idea even if their presentation isn't so much...Â
Secondly... I have been here at r'osity for several years and I consider myself an artist regardless of if I'm any good or not but because I truly enjoy doing this (playing dress-up dolls as some of my friends lovingly call it.) If I find myself browsing the 'What's New' uploads I look for the beginners... I do this because I remember what it was like to first start out with Poser (v.4 LOL) and I know how hard it is. I don't give rediculously happy --'Oh thats so byooteefull"- and stuff like that but I do say things like: 'Hey, great work on this and this and such' and then if I feel it necessary I will send them an email or IM on what they could do to improve. IMHO the comments option on images is really designed to be a motivational tool for anyone who wants to be an artist. If you do choose to be critical (option allowing) then be gentle... Many of these artists are new or not exactly used to harsh comments of the public. Who gives a rats hairy bumm about the people who have 300 comments/image? There are only so many generic comments to go around, just figure that they really only have about 15 -real- comments after lumping all the 'awesome' and 'beautiful' and 'incredible' comments apart.Â
Another thing I tend to do is come here to the forums and get opinions on certain aspects of my images. For example: I went to the PSP forum to get opinions on an image I painted hair in.
Just remember, the older artists here can have their following but make sure to recognize the new artists because they could end up commenting on something you made! :)

I dunno most times when I'm looking for something to purchase or download its because I have a certain idea I want to use and I only grab things I think I'll need for it. Granted yes I usually only use some of those things once or twice but even if its only that I still feel its worth it :)
Thread: Selling Art on Ebay? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you randym! :D
At first the idea was only to print out my pictures to frame and give as Christmas gifts to family and friends but then I had thought if I was going to spend the money to do that why not print out some extras and sell them... I'm not really looking to make alot of money but any extra income always helps. We're a military family so even a little bit of extra income is better then none at all :P
Thank you for the printing suggestion, I'll look into it :)

Ahh thanks for the reply :) Yes my biggest concern is for the free stuff which isn't a major issue because most times I just make things for people's desktop backgrounds and whatnot and I can always make new stuff with each item I purchase which has become a small obsession for me now LOL
But I do know that most free stuff comes with a note saying if its allowed for commercial use, what I had thought I would do is contact the designer if I want to sell the artwork and get their permission specifically before selling it...

Just a note on the DAZ freebies, Michael and Victoria are free as a base only. To do any significant shape changes you'll need the head and body morph pack from DAZ as well which I believe are $19.95 each? (please correct me if I'm wrong) lol!
Remember to have fun with it and happy rendering! I can't wait to see your gallery, I love new artists :D
Thread: Issue with INJ for Vicki | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
So even if I downloaded a character with a bunch of different INJ options it still won't work because I don't have Vicki's INJ stuff? Its what I figured but I wanted to check...

Thread: Relatively new around here... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well we just bought a brand new 250GB HD and 2GB memory PC so I should hope thats enough to run it (it also has a GeForce 6200SE graphics card) But it still may be awhile before I can afford an upgrade, although its now in my to-do list :P
Thread: Relatively new around here... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks... I'll have to save up for an upgrade and some morphs but I will check out your site, thanks!
Thread: Relatively new around here... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
How much does it cost to upgrade? I've had P4 since... well since it was new LOL
Plus I'm using the freebie Vicky and Mike, do I need to pay ones to use to downloaded morphs? Cuz right now I really can't change much about the appearance and I like to have variety :P
