OK, got that. If you've worked on her as hard as you have, I know you'll fix it. Have any idea about the difference in vertices? The head has more than the exported morph. Could it be a Poser thing? I have a really cute nose going here and can't do a thing about it.
Thread: Weird Jesse Morph Target No Load!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hey! So you're over here now? Cool. That's good info to have. Don't think compression is it. I did the UV Mapper thing and here goes. Head = 39777 vertices My two exported morphs - 39571 vertices. No wonder I got the error message. But why fewer vertices in the morph targets? What's getting left out? And when opening both head and my morphs in UV Mapper I get a message that the model contains out of range UV coordinate data. Have no idea what that means. Like asking a squirrel to do calculus. Well some progress at least...no a solution but more info is good...I think.

Ah Ha! Maybe that's it. The Jesse.obz is in the Character folder not Geometry folder. I save without PMD because I'm using P5 and P6 and can't get used to new things. So there are more than one Jesse object files for all three versions, low, whatever and high. But how do you change the original OBZ back to OBJ and does that really have anything to do with the number of vertices? Don't think so. That's what I don't get. This morph .obj was taken from the head and should have the same number of vertices. And I didn't weld anything. Just exported with only the Morph Target option ticked off. And I'm careful to make sure that nothing else is selected when I export for the head. No extra eyes, toes or something. That's happened to me before. But this is the second time this has happened. So something is screwy somewhere and I need this to work! Drat!

And they can be manipulated re size, the placement, etc. Also Splat from Alien Skin lets you use all of the PSP .tub files in Photoshop. You get the placement, sizing, number but are not able to change as well as in PSP.

OK, now I'm addicted. This is my first attempt and it was so much fun. I finally understand what HDRI is, IBL is, know more about lighting in general and am so grateful. I even understand the concept of specular lighting to get highlights in eyes, etc. Thanks face_off for the tip. Going to try the node trick for highlights next.I wanted to try something with weird colors to see what the effect of the light would be on her skin. And the shadows were a real surprise.

"Stewer's poor-mans IBL is an excellent script for converting an IBL image into a Poser light set." More info on this please? Where to go for more info, that is.

Since I've posted I've read more about the artifacts. So there are artifacts and artifacts. The ones in the examples are caused by the bump value being too high. Easy to find that out when I decreased it and they went away. The others that look like smudges seem to be from the Shadow Min Bias set too high. I think... Now a P6 question which is also a P5 question. Do you attach the bump to the Bump channel or the Displacement channel? I've done both and don't really see a difference. Is it just a personal preference? And why is the Gradient Bump still there? I thought it was only for P4 bum bumps.
Thread: What is this garbage?!!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's good to know for P6. I'm slowly starting to feel comfortable in it but haven't even cracked the book yet. You were right. Bump strength was too high. I was wrong for the P5/Firefly settings. I had bump set to 0.1000000. Changed it to 0.0100000 and it's fine so far.

Thanks randym77. I'll go set the bumps lower and see what happens. I usually have them set to about 1.00000 for P4 render. For P5 a lot less, about 0.0100000. OK so I can't remember how many zeros. Going to remove them completely and see what happens. Didn't think of that either. Got upset and got into a tizzy.

Hey, I love postwork. I do more correcting with the Liquify tool in PSD than anything else. OK, but I'm in the dark about scaling everything up in the scene 1000%. And there's only one thing in the scene. The figure. Another thing. I used Danae's lights for this. Then used the Poser default crummy lights. Same thing. I think I'll defrag, backup, and start again tomorrow. Because I was in P5 for hours today, often leaving it to go do something else, coming back to save a render, then on and on like that. It may be something as weird as a memory glitch or something. Early in the day I didn't see the artifacts. Late in the day I did. So got a bunch of renders that were OK. It seems that it just got worse and worse. But I'll go fool with the lighs and see if there's a difference.

Sorry, one more thing. I also see this stuff in a render of the top of the hand. It's near the inside of the fingers but more on top and not where the seam is. Just something extra to contend with.

Lyne's Mil Horse is finished! Just saw it and it's beautiful. Lots of extras with the package as well. Never thought of using Dynamic hair for the horse...very cool. Her trans maps are better than Daz too.
