Thread: Does anyone know how to use Dark Faction's Mat Pose Editor? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You've got to go to the Database item in the file menu and select the Add New MAT Option. You'll get a dialog box where there is an Import MAT button. That lets you load a Character or Prop file. After that, you can access the Object through the drop down list and edit the MAT. Evanara
Thread: Viking Longhouse WIP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks all for the comments and links. These will be usefull. To Staale : My version od the house is indeed a rather small house (something around 4m wide x 8m long, approximately). It is my 'proof of concept' for the later models :) . I intend to do larger models in additional sets. To Guslaw : The similarity of art/lifestyle is understandable as the vikings did invade/colonised part of what is now russia (as they did with a lot of countries). Viking is in fact not the name of the people but the name of what they did : they went on viking raids to do commerce with, colonize or attack other lands. In some cases , as in France, some clans/tribes were brought in by the local governments to fight off other viking raids, so the culture is one of the most wide spread of the medieval cultures. Hi. Is this available yet ? I was thinking of doing a similar set, perhaps I should move on to something else instead. Evanara
Thread: Viking Longhouse WIP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the info, leather-guy. I wasn't aware of this set. I had looked through the market place and didn't find anything like this , so I felt this was a 'safe' subject. Looks like Tygercub got the same idea sooner than me :) . Do you know if this set is available yet ?. What I am aiming for is very much the same thing. Maybe I should start on the next sets sooner (medieval mill and viking great hall). Evanara
Thread: DAZ freebie? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I haven't had problems with DAZ site for a long while. I went there today and all seemed fine. One thing you could try is hit the 'reload/refresh' button on your browser to see if it can reload the entire page. As for the freebie, I expect it'll be changed for tomorrow. They have been a bit slow on that update for the past 2 weeks. Busy with other things, I guess.
Thread: 3dsmax Version 4 or 5 for assisting Poser (*.obj generation& manipulation)....? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is no real advantage of choosing MAX 5 over MAX 4 if the only use is modeling objects. Most of the new features involve better rendering and animations options. In both cases , you'll need the free obj export and import plugins . I haven't yet seen the MAX 5 version of these but they should be available . I hope this helps . Evanara
Thread: Daz Cyclorama ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi ! I'm not sure of the cause to your problem (don't have P5) but it sounds like the material settings are not right. You could check the highlight and color settings for the cyclorama and make sure they are respectively black and white (that's what I use in P4 and haven't had any problems). I hope this helps. Thread: Creating Furniture and Adding Morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi ! I haven't tried building a prop from within Poser itself but I used 3DS MAX to build props , export them to OBJ format and then used UVMapper and PHIBuilder to make it posable in Poser (this result in a Character (CR2) file rather than a Prop (pp2) file) . Works well for rotating parts , I still have to figure out how to do sliding parts (other than parenting to the main part of the prop). I guess you could do the same from Poser by exporting the object to an OBJ file and going through UVMapper and PHIbuilder . There should be tutorials for Prop/figure building here and there is (or was) a good one at Poserworld . Both UVM and PHI are available from the Freestuff section. Take care.
