Thanks but ....I know about that and boy is it tedious or what? Plus I don't want to goof it up. Wish there were some easier way via interface or script.

Thanks again drewradley. I looked at the TUT and yes that appears to be what is happening. I'll play around with it. And, I'm going to look for that MIMIC PRO to go on sale too. $10 would be a steal.

Quote - One quick solution to poke-through in clothes is to make any underlying body parts invisible.
It's not poke through - the body parts are already invisible. What happens is a break in the geometry of the object creating a jagged wrinkle or tear in the clothes - it's becuase the Wardrobe Wizard I used conforms - for example - P4 pants to a P6 figure. Looks ok in most poses but with squats and certain bends the modified clothes might get a funky jagged break at the butt, knee, or elbow or something like that.
I modified P4 pants to a P5 Judy figure which I used for Maureen. There are certain poses in her legs that create wrinkles on her butt/hip area that stick way out. you can adjust the pose a bit and it will go away.
This does not occur on clothes meant / designed for a certain figure - only on those that go through PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard - it works pretty good 90% of the time - but it's not perfect - maybe I am doing something wrong in the process but again - it's only certain wild poses that create this.

Quote - The animation was a bit wobbly but the character face morphs were spot on. Good job.
Wobbly? Yeah I know. I'm not that good. If you look close some are done with BVH imports - but finding these to work in all cases with Poser 5-7 figures seems impossible. I had to clean some of them up. Then when I had to do it ALL myself - it was a bit herky - jerky. I guess with time I would get better.
I think the BEST modelled characters are Smith and West. Then John. The rest I just couldn't get right for some reason - partly because I had to work with limited straight on and side shots of the actors. I am considering redoing Judy and Maureen with the Sydney figure - which is what I used for Penny in the episode.
One issus is finding clothes that "wardrobe wizard" correctly and conform to the figure. Some of these issues caused me to move the figures differently so that "breaks" in the clothes at certain angles didn't appear.
Again, this is a prototype. If I were to do episode 2 I think I would use new voice talent so I could get the EXACT lines I need.
Thanks for everyone's comments.

Quote - How many hours did that take you to do? Fun to watch
TOO MANY to count!! LOL. Thanks for watching. I worked on this since January usually in the evenings and then let renders run over night. Very tedious but fun. I am very fond of Lost in Space.

Quote - Hi! Watched it. Might I make a couple of suggestions regarding lipsync? I animate radio plays myself and rerecord the dialog in spots where there is a lot of sound effects over the dialog. Just sit there and listen to that section over and over in headphones as I record and then pick the best one. Then I use that one I recorded myself for the lipsync and get rid of it when I am done. This will clean it up a lot.
If you can afford to, buy Mimic Pro from Daz.
http://www.daz3d.com/i/3d-models/-/mimic-pro?item=1981&spmeta=rl&_m=d
It goes on sale a few times a year for $10 which is about 90% off. Also watch for it to go into fast grab. This will greatly improve your animation and give you lipsync that you can practically read their lips and it adds some natural facial movements to accompany it. Well worth it at full price - not to be missed when it's on sale for $10. I'd go as far as to say it's a MUST for any serious animator.
Even if you ignore everything else, don't ignore this: keep at it! Poser-verse needs more animators! We got so many naked chicks in dungeons with swords no one really takes us seriously as animators. They think it's just going to be animations of naked chicks in dungeons with swords. We need more story tellers to overcome that stigma so maybe we can be taken seriously!
p.s. if you haven't looked at any of mine, I welcome you to. Encourage even.
Thanks for the suggestions. You're right - I could re-record the lines to get better enunciation....I am interested in Mimic Pro - I presume it will work for Poser 5, 6, and 7 figures? If I do another episode of Lost in Space having this in place would definitely help - as you can see on some of the lipsyncs they look pretty good but on others it doesn't.
Thanks again.

Thread: Importing Animation Poses into existing scene... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Turning off the IK BEFORE importing is HUGE. It made all the difference and then I blanked out the HIP frames.
But then the figure just WALKS in place and not in the path. I spent lotsa time redoing the path and making sure that when the feet hit the ground they stay put and don't slide forward.
Would saving the PATH with the POSE make a difference?

Thread: Importing Animation Poses into existing scene... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yeah but i've already created 75 % of the animation so I want to work forward.
I did do what you said and deleted the Body and HIp elements on what I imported but the figure is still positioned back more towards the zero position of grid - NOT where I want it.
Yes, I can zoom out and move the figure back to where it needs to be and can transition to it....but I'm trying to save steps and I feel there is something the pose set is retaining which is why I wondered if I saved just - let's say the leg elements and the hip - what would happen?
I even tried the memorize elements/figure hot key and then restor it. Seems like i could "memorize" one thing about the figure in the last frame and the apply it to the figure in the 1st frame of the pose set. Not sure which element this should be.
Thank you for your response.

Thread: Carnegie Mellon BVH - Any Way to Get Them to Work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is the group of set 56 which will not load because of size - I wait several minutes and Poser is still chugging along. The other poses seem to load fine.
I noticed in BVHacker is RENAMES all the joints so they don't match Poser. Pretty cool tool to give you just the sequence you want but the renaming is annoying.
Is there another tool that'll do this?

Thread: Carnegie Mellon BVH - Any Way to Get Them to Work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the movements but on some that are really long they don't load! POSER just hangs up trying to import the BVH. The shorter BVHs import fine.
So...is there a way to bring the BVH into some tool and crop/edit it so that you get only the sequence of frames you want? I tried BVHacker and it loads and crops the file but what it SAVES does not match when loaded into Poser - you get a figure that just wobbles around. So...BVHacker is for Second Life only I understand so the "save" command must change the BVH?
Ideas anyone? Thanks!!

Thread: Can't find AVI file after render? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I deleted all the object and props from the file and created a moving camera to animate for 30 frames and I still get the error. The on a hunch I cleared out the sound file I was using for the talk designer. When I did that it WORKED!! I am not sure why it was rendering earlier ok and then suddenly stopped but "Clear Sound" worked. tks

In my PZ3 it is simply the name of the saved pz3 file. So this appears referential only. Clearly it happens after the last frame is rendered and then it tries to bring up WMP.

Thread: Shader Node Animation corruption issue | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Tks. However, the shader node for node input is correct and references the right control. I checked that first. Again, the animation palette shows the animation keyframes but the MAT shows it off. Something is getting clobbered. It works when Poser is open. It corrupts when I save it. Weird.

Thread: Shader Node Animation corruption issue | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I save the PZ3 the little green "animated" icon next to Ambient Value in the MAT room is ON. When I reopen the file it is OFF.
But the animation palette still has the shader nodes and the keyframes. The PZ3 file still has the KEY values and as far as I can tell everything looks like it should work but somehow it boils down I believe to the "animated" button not being ON in the MAT room. Something is toggling this OFF when I save the file and when that happens the exisinting animation does not work.
After saving the file and reopening it for example the ANIMATED shader node for this mat is still ON using the DIFFUSE value:
shaderNodeParm com_display_5_PoserSurface_1
{
name com_display_5_PoserSurface_1
initValue 1
hidden 0
forceLimits 1
min 0
max 10
trackingScale 0.01
keys
{
static 0
k 0 0.2
sl 1
lin
sm
k 14 1
sl 1

WHEREAS, on this one the ANIMATED little green icon is OFF - But I can't see anything different other than one above is constant and this one is linear. This one uses the AMBIENT value fields rather than the diffuse value fields:
shaderNodeParm comm_ops_buttons_blue_PoserSurf
{
name comm_ops_buttons_blue_PoserSurf
initValue 0.996078
hidden 0
forceLimits 1
min -10
max 10
trackingScale 0.005

{
static 0
k 0 0.996078
sl 1
con
sm
k 14 0.0823529
sl 1

sm
}
The only thing that is odd is the values I am using here are 1.0 and 0.0 but you can see that it is assigning .996 and .082.

....But......It comes up okay but just flat doesn't change the ambience at all when the key frames are processed. It is though nothing is animated. Then you look in Material and the animate key is OFF but as you can see it is clearly ON in the PZ3 "key" section. How do I make it work again.. be sure to look at link in prior post....
