Quote - If everyone emails dimension3d, and expects an answer, it would be unlikely he'd ever get anything done.
Yep, and that's why he also posted it to his website. Pays to look so you don't get people speculating and potentially going out of control. ;)
Thread: What was this and why is it no longer for sale? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Oooh - can I speculate? Everybody here gets to speculate all the time. Can I say what I think as though it is based on facts? This seems juicy and ripe for speculation.
D3D is a good programmer and vendor. His stuff works. I bet this worked.
Daz would like people to buy things they already have and this product prevents that.
I'm guessing this product would cost them $1 million or more.
Or I could be completely wrong, since I know nothing at all other than what you just showed me.
Actually it pays to actually email the guy... and it's also on his website. ;)
He's working on a new version of the program so it works better.
Thread: Victoria 5 coming soon?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I have just been warned by daz that as I said "Victoria 5 was just another genesis morph"ย I have acted negativly & been threatened with loss of posting priviledges
Not surprised, really. I was writing a response to it when your post was removed.
Here's the thing: You can disagree with something without sounding snarky and ill-behaved and misinformed, which was basically what your post was. People that lost their posting priviledges (aka banned) because they didn't know that distinction. Also following directions (such as being directed not to discuss a subject within a particular thread, yet you do it anyway, will get you in trouble.. as some have also learned.
If you want to have a conversations, by all means have one... but know how to compose your posts and know where exactly to do it.
By the way, you had said that Genesis needs to be accessible in more major programs... besides people exporting to C4D, here's a video of someone using Genesis in Maya using a experimental plugin:

I'll be willing to test functionality as well. Is it for fitting clothing for weight mapped figures as well?
Thread: DAZ Studio 4 = CR2 Exporter to Poser 9 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - So the answer is no.
The question was meant to check whether an idea I had when watching the video was right.
Test passed, with full marks.
Silent, evil smile.
Actually I think over time you're going to have less and less to gripe about. Genesis is now in poser and it looks like SM and DAZ are meeting about getting other issues ironed out. So if I were you, I would probably tone it down, because people are going to look back at these threads one day and have nothing but raised eyebrows at some of these comments.
Thread: DAZ Studio 4 = CR2 Exporter to Poser 9 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - So now there is no obstacle for DAZ people to do some exports, package the lot into a standalone installer, write some notes and then release the thing as a product, right?
And which morphs will go in this package? Also which UVs will go with that installer (M4,V4,K4,Anubis,V5,Troll,Genesis Male, etc). And for new updates, how will those CR2s be updated and packaged up for each new sets of morphs and UVs?
So the answer is no.

Quote - > Quote - The problem is both. The figure is too high poly to be weightmapped properly... and without the subdivision helping smooth the problem areas, this will be a continual problems as the high polys crush in on themselves as they bend. Which is one of the reasons why Genesis has a much less poly count.
Nevermind supporting dsf; SM needs to get on the ball about proper subdivision and scaling. K4 toddler should have been usable in Poser 9.
Incorrect. The mesh isn't the problem: the rigging is. As you will soon see.
We sure will. But think while you're waiting... there are reasons newer things are done certain ways... you know like as in "how can we improve this so it bends properly".

Same pose. Different figure. No, the problem isn't the mesh. Not completely. It's the rigging. Which can be fixed. And is being fixed.
On the other comments: "children, behave yourselves. You're not home where that sort of behaviour is condoned."
The problem is both. The figure is too high poly to be weightmapped properly... and without the subdivision helping smooth the problem areas, this will be a continual problems as the high polys crush in on themselves as they bend. Which is one of the reasons why Genesis has a much less poly count.

Quote - no,I'll be snarky on my own time.
your post was about DS. so I reminded you where you were and that talking about Poser was ok.
if you find that snarky, thats your own problem and not mine.
Uh right.... And my comment was in response to another post where they said DAZ PAs was looking into it. Comment's still relevant, because someone else was still talking about DS in THIS thread, regardless of what forum it was posted in... and it was about the Marvelous tool... so it's still was on topic... which you still haven't done. So unless you want to start talking about marvelouos, regardless of DS or Poser... perhaps you want to look at another thread? You're trolling right now.
Anyway, I downloaded the tool and it does look interesting. I still haven't gotten the hang of things though, but I guess it takes practice.

Quote - and this is the POSER forum. the DAZ STUDIO forum is 3 doors down on the right, past the garbage bins, over the bridge and next to the Bryce Forum......
That's nice too. But DS was brought up in THIS thread, so my comment was relevant... but your's isn't.
Care to contribute and not be snarky?

Quote - In Poser it can.
That's nice, but I wasn't talking Poser? Stay with me now. ;)
Most of the buzz over this program is DS, not poser.

Quote - where you got that idea, but if it's true:ย That's a 100% cutthroat DAZ business decision and not anything else, don't kid yourself.ย The only reason D|S dynamics areย restricted to Optitex'sย contentย is because DAZ and Optitex hard-coded it that way, and imo that was a really shitty business move.
This was discussed weeks ago in the DAZ forums, along with why there still isn't a 64 bit version of the dynamic clothing plugin or a mac version of the plugin. From the conversation there were promises made I think two years ago that this plugin would be for Mac, 64-bit PC and would offer an inexpensive tool to allow content makers to make their own dynamic clothing. So far, none of that has happened. The license for Optiplex is somewhere between $5K-10K if you wanted to do your own dynamic clothing. Currently people have to partner with a contractor to have him make your designs forย dynamic clothing. So a lot of content creators aren't happy about this situation.
So Marvelous comes along and says here are our version of a tool and we'll work on a DS plugin for dynamic clothing for all platforms. Their inital price for the commercial version was $2500, so $700 is a better price but not many can afford it, and you definitely have to be dedicated to making those clothing items and have decent enough designs to recoup that amount. But then most content makers have a copy of either 3ds max, modo, maya... etc... and those aren't cheap either... and they don't do the dynamic clothing.
I think $700 is a big leap of faith for purchase and no actual plugin, but if they can pull it off, either it will get Optitex off their butt and give DS users a slimmed down version of a content creationย tool specifically for DS or people that have the license and the plugin to make their own clothing for purchase and leave Optitex behind.
Thread: just marvelous designer....yikes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - for $700. youse guys have a lot more cash than my poor ass at least PhilC's offering is only $30 or something like that.
That tool can NOT make dynamic clothing in DS, only conforming items. You can't compare items that don't do the same thing.
Thread: just marvelous designer....yikes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well the promise here, which I don't see in anyone's posts, is that it will allow for people other than Optitex to create dynamic clothing in DAZ Studio... something you can't do with zbrush or modo. The price is higher because of the dynamic capability, though it's way cheaper than trying to buy a license with Optitex.
If Marvelous can provide a plugin that will allow people to create dynamic clothing in DS, that will make a lot of DS content creators happy.
Thread: "Grip" dial ? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
There's a plugin I bought called hand grip that does just that. It's $15 now, but it may be cheaper during Daz's March Madness. It was 50% off last month.
