I have it! I didn't take into account that people (Stotty ..koff koff) 
were deleting their posts. I can see those, you can't. The numbers for me aren't the same as for you. I had to go back and recount, not scounting all the deleted posts. Here's what I get- someone please check for me who isn't a mod! Spring- CDeery my 19, your 15 Summer- YourGeorgie My 11, your 10 Fall- Stotty and MakinMagic my 8/13, your 8/10 Winter- Stotty my 9, your 8 MakinMagic gets fall since Stotty has Winter. Fair enuf? Now do you see why I was confused?

Well, this was my idea, and we'll see who bites. (Winners?) To make a single image out of all four, with one image in each of 4 frames, called "fractal seasons". Then use this in the magazine as a "fractal artist compilation" image.

Okay! One more day to vote- midnight (my time) the 15th, I count! The voting is public for 2 reasons- one, we're all friends, so no secrecy required. Two, the mod didn't have time to arrange anything fancy. (Next time.) ;]

Great thread! Mandlebrot and several others have referred to fractals as a discovery, instead of an invention. It could be that Euclid was just wrong. (It happens.) The appeal of fractal art is in the eye of the beholder. I enjoy it- but I can also look at the patterns in a leaf, or watch currents of water, with the same interest. One of the keys of meditation is illumination through sympathetic attunement with patterns- chant, mandalas, etc. The mind shows a positive response to synchronisation. (Prayer, too. Any formulatic ritual.) I shouldn't conceptualise right after I wake up.

I personally like the ability to upload images, when it's to illustrate a technique, or ask what went wrong. I personally think that finished images not for illustrative or critique purposes should go in the gallery. However, I don't want to just go by my personal preferences, that's why this thread is here.

Does it? Lemme check...brb.... ...click click click.... ...hmm. It looks like PSP has something called a "command history". I think it only has linear undo, but I'll have to play with it.

You could definitely use more memory, and upgrading to Win2k wouldn't hurt. (Win98 has an allocation limit of 256m per app. You can have a gig of ram, and it will only let each app use 256m. I switched to 2k for that reason- I find it to be the most stable.) I suppose I really post-process- I create a 3d fractal in Quaternion, then export it to my modeling program to play with. Of course, technically the modeler and raytracer don't count as post processing- or do they? By themselves they don't. There's a question!
