Wow... what a fantastic thread. I've got to admit that sometimes I see people on the street and as they walk by I have a reaction like, "Gee, their 'round nose' dial was set way too high." And I'll admit that I've been online all day from work in the past.. Hmm.... Now that I think about it.. I'm guilty of almost everything in this list! It's true! It's all true! I'm addicted to Poser, it's taken over my life! Oh well... Can't say it bothers me...

I think that the basic rule of thumb to follow is this: After you "create" something and want to distribute OR sell it, consider this: Did you base your work on something else that someone else is selling? If someone downloaded your thing, would they be able to remove the parts that you created or in some way reverse engineer the thing and just have the thing that someone else is selling? If you can answer no to that then you're safe. That's why distributing textures is safe... No matter how you made them, you can't build an object just from knowing what the texture template was shaped like, so your not giving away something that someone would normally have to buy elsewhere. That's why you can sell objects constructed of primatives.. Nobody sells primatives, so you're not stealing the "sphere" profits from anybody else. That's also why you can't sell Zygote models with your own morphs applied. If people start buying your model and just removing your morphs, they've got Zygote's product, and never had to pay them for it. Anyway... I think that as long as you keep this in mind, the copyright issue will never give you a problem.

Yeah.. Once I got the shadows working on the walls, I was pretty pleased with the results... This image is straight out of Poser with no post or anything. The only think I wish poser did better was transparency related to shadows... If you could get a stained glass effect by shining a light through a translucent colored material that would rock! Oh well... Add it to the wish list I guess... You never know about her natural hair color though... Fairies could be different that way.

Just the standard ground... I went into the materials menu, picked it, and loaded up a texture... That much worked fine. I like the default ground object... very useful... but keeping it visible and getting it not to cast shadows were pretty much impossible.

Cool! I'm definately going to need some good clothing textures.. I totally love the PAN.WARE line that's already on your website. Good clothing textures can turn the dozen or so clothing props that come with poser into a nearly infinite wardrobe. That brings up a whole interesting idea though... Product placement in poser images.. Sounds like fun. Let's do it!

Yeah.. Strangely enough.. That's the look I was going for. Um... Not really... But seriously, that's pretty creepy. Although if you think about it.. There's got to be some real world person for every click of the morph dial.. With all the posting going on here.. It's only a matter of time before you recognize one.
