Yes, this has been an issue for some time but as our kids grow up and the competition gets tougher, they are looking for new ways to be better. It was really hard explaining to my 8 year old why everyone was boooing Barry Bonds at a Padres-Giants game last summer. Whats going to happen if he wants to play college ball some day and does not make the cut because the idiot who's jacked gets picked? Will he consider alternatives then? I don't see this going away any time soon and agree that it is a real social issue!

This is disturbing to me in that I moved hours away from the city my children were born in because of the increased gang activity. Anything not moving was tagged. It's unusual to see a tag in such a rural setting. Graffiti is just plain ugly. Kids were bored 30 years ago too but I don't remember anyone doing things like this.

Even the solutions are not solutions. It has gotten so bad in places here, that after the week-long community service clean up efforts took place, a huge dumpster was placed permanently at one of the major dump sites. One of the local businesses pays to have it dumped weekly. In spite of everyone's efforts, the morons who continue to use the site can't seem to get their garbage in the dumpster. We're talking huge here. You could drive a car into it. No excuses!

Thats funny. The thumb looks like some sort small machine gun getting ready to kill the wife's favored calico stuffed cat. That could be an issue!

This is a real issue in both small towns and large cities. I work for the state social service agency in our small community. Just yesterday a person was arrested for selling his Food Stamp card only an hour after he received it based on his "need" for expedited services. I have purchased food for a homeless person and watched as he threw it in the trash. It's a tough call to help someone out like this. Great photo- J

I think this is excellent. As a Social Worker for many years, I have had the opportunity to view more "awareness" posters and flyers than I care to. The fact is, none really had much impact. Your photo and text is awesome. I hope more people have the opportunity to see and feel it. J

ryno- You are correct. The whales do calve south of Ensenada. They migrate through the entrance to the bay. I will correct that on the posting but I don't know how to on the challenge site. Thank you! J
