As in any art form, purity is prized among many artists in that particular field. I think this is most prevalent with CG artist then with traditional artist. Although I suspect that artists who work in oil have a certain amount of loyalty to their medium, as do watercolorist. So it is with CG artwork each application is beautiful on its own terms. It is amazing to see what artists can do to push the program to places that no one thought it could, or could, go; by creating an image using only a single art medium [or CG program]. Post processing [post working] of course is not a new topic, and it is always one that can stir emotions. After all artists are a passionate lot, that is our nature! Passion drives our art! As there are strong opinions in both pure and post worked images. Some artists feel that the only true (in this case) fractal image is that created totally with a specific fractal program. Others would counter that art is art and it does not matter what media you use or combine, to create your image, it is still art, and thus pure! Who is right? Both views are! After all, there is not right or wrong in art Only Passion for the Art! I am confident that the Fractal members can conduct a passionate yet thoughtful discussion concerning this topic, and at the same time be respectful of opposing views :) Dee-Marie

Hey Tres - get out of my mind - I thought it was a little crowded in there yesterday :) Actually all the excellent comments that you made are in the process of being implimented. Just trying to give Nick some time to get his feet under him, before I sprang "Da List" at him ;] I am so happy that we are all on the same page [no pun intended] on what everyone would like to see in the Fractal Forum! Holy Cow - I just checked the Challenge Contest page - I am so impressed with the outstanding images that everyone has come up with! Although I have never created a fractal - I find them visually exciting and amazing works of art - each one so beautifully unique - like the artists who create them :) Thanks again everyone for your entry and keep them coming - there's still more time for more entries :) ladynimue

THis is so exciting to see that we have so many entries to the contest - way to go everyone :) Just a reminder - Images have to be approved before they are uploaded to the contest area - and this can take up to 24 hours - but all the images are time-stamped, so that is not a problem. Some times there are site hic-ups where the contest entry does not upload correctly, if it has been 24 hours since you uploaded your contest entry and you do not see it in the approved area, please do as you did, and post a note to this thread - that way we will know that your entry was received and not sent to some far off galaxy :) Nick - you are doing an outstanding job gettng to the entries as soon as you log online - no need to apologize :) I have been away on business the last couple of days - but I am back now and will be sure to check the contest area for Nick when he is not online! Wow I am excited - if you haven't already, please do take a look at the entries we've received to date for the Fractal Monthly Challenge :) Just waaaaaaaay too kewl! I know that the holiday season is extra busy for everyone - but if you have the time - we would really LOVE to see what you can come up with for a Winter Wonderland Fractal contest image :) ladynimue
