Hi Bryster, thanks for answering my post, and thanks for droping by at my site... I´ll accept any help you can give me gladly.
I do not understand the second part you ask about it. The story is not meant to be split in parts, if you mean about the part wich is in image and the part that is in text, well, I have all those images as texts, so that shouldn´t be an issue.
I´d like to talk more to you about what is going on, would it be possible to talk using some kind of messenger or even trought skype?
I´ve added you as a friend here on renderosity.
Well, this is it for now, one question doh, if you read the story, how did you like it?
thank you
yours

Thread: Why Would Somene Use Painter And Photoshop? | Forum: Photoshop
Well, I tried to not answer this post but I couldn´t avoid it... hehehehhehehe... well, I use both painter and photoshop, I never used real oils or much of what is said that painter mimiks in real life, so I can´t say how good it is on that sense, I can say that I draw and paint doing stuff as an ilustrator... so I usually start drawing in painter and do the basic painting and blending, then I usually ended up moving to photoshop to finish the paint and wrapping it up... and it works for me... painter is really good to help with the drawing part of it, and photoshop is really good for the finishing stuff, like getting it all together and wrapping it up. Sooooooooooooo.... it all depends on what you do with what you have you know? Oh yeah I also use iluststudio when I have to deal with super perspectives ( like when I can´t get away with simple perspective)... anyhow I guess one can do everything with photoshop nowadays, but painter makes the drawing and inicial painting so much easier... so... in the end I´d tell you to get a trial and check it out, see if you like it and if it´s for you or not... and have fun.... I think archdruid got it right...
well... have fun

Thread: Patchy Selections - Help? | Forum: Photoshop
Right... but how do you tell which "brush" is the hardest? They all look much the same.
---->on the brushes selector you can right click on a little drop down menu on the right top corner and choose how do you wish to see the brushes, like thombnails and so on. If you can not find this, just click on f5, or go on view>brushes and view the brush selector, on it you will be able to see the names of the brushes and if you are using the regular brushes, meaning if you did not install any new brushes than there should be one there named hard round brush, and thats a good brush for quick masking, if you do find it and if you do use it, make sure to use with opacity and fill on 100.
Quote - " Also, for this particular image I would go about using a pen tool, I should call it marvelous masking tool."
I have no idea how you use that.
--->Pen tool is a vector tool just like the one on ilustrator, flash.... and once you make a path with you can make the path a mask.

I hope I could be of some help "
Um... well, alt+crtl+d doesn't work for me on my PC. Nothing happened at all.
this shortcut only works if you have a mask already drawn, meaning you can use any tool or way you wish to make masks, once you have your mask than on the work bar(title bar) there is a title called select, it is a menu with all kinds of masking commands, from feather to shrink and grow masks and so on.
I hope I could be of some help
Thread: Some alpha questions | Forum: Photoshop
I know that some formats accepts alpha, and others dont, say tiff, psd, png, gif, and some others... now jpg do not accept channels at all. Under .tiff, you have to specify to save alphas... I do not know of anyway to make alphas automaticly, I do know that once you´ve done an alpha and it is saved it will be on the image, as long as u use a format wich allows that.
Now to make alphas with masks, or once you have saved it, you can alter it quite easy painting over it, meaning you can load the channel and using a hard brush erase the edges or whatever u want using black and white.
I hope I could shed some light.
Thread: Patchy Selections - Help? | Forum: Photoshop
hi, I´m glad you were able to figure it out in bryce, I would sugest a few things in photoshop if I may...
the prob on your first image seems to be because perhaps you are using a brush that has some fading capability, I would suggest you try using a hard edge brush. For quickmasking the hardier the better.
Also, for this particular image I would go about using a pen tool, I should call it marvelous masking tool.
Now about any fuzzyness at least on the edges is mainly due to feather, but that is easy to control using alt+crtl+d or cmd+d in a mac, if I´m not mistaken.
I hope I could be of some help

Thread: Comicbook in Photoshop | Forum: Photoshop
my "process" for comics is to scan a page in 300dpi, than I set the panels as vectors... as size goes, I usually set it up, for the whole page as A4 size, wich you can specify whenever you create a new page... the easier way....
anyhow, thats how I start....
hope it helps.... oh, thats for printing..... for the internet I usually size down a bit and save as jpg for the net....
Thread: Watercolour paint effect - once again | Forum: Photoshop
I don´t know why in the seven hells we did it, but the wheel weaves as the wheel wills it.... hahahahahahaha, being reading the wheel of time too damm much.... oh well, don´t mind my blabing, anyhow I agree with you, there are a lot of fantastic artists here on renderosity, and cgchannel is fantastic.... I also wish I could do half of what they do, and perhaps one day I will make it there, still nowadays I ready to let that happen when that happens you know? still I devote all the time that I possibly can to it....... anyhow I do like the 3d/2d mix on the link that you got there, still my biggest desire now a days is to find something quite unique, not that is not unique, but still looks too much like poser/daz look..... wich is good, maybe I´m just tired of seeing it you know? or am I going bananas allready? I do think that with a little more effort the result would be more like a painting and that would please more my nowadays taste, if you catch my meaning...... I´ve been looking a lot into some of the new comics work that has been going on in europe and some of those guys are just incredible! I think that 3d is fantastic but I´m tired of that super clean look, I think that those guys from ice age did an incredible job because their renders don´t have that computer look to it, contrary to pixar..... Well, thats about it......
now, those ilustrations from the 30´s to the 50´s are fantastic, pin ups were great.... and.... I also call my self an ilustrator, but maybe, nowadays well, I´m going more towards video, but still have the same love for comics..... oh well, the wheel weaves as the wheel wills it.....
cheers

Thread: After Effects Question | Forum: Photoshop
hullo ew, dynamic link is a part of the adobe master suit, meaning one has to have the whole goddammed thing to have it.... it is most usefull if you use more than one adobe program and use them at once, such as ilustrator, photoshop, ae and premiere, (my case) however adobe does have other special packages wtih different prices, I don´t know if the dynamic link is in all of them.... , still check out adobe package. you can message me at any time on msn.

hope that helps

Thread: Watercolour paint effect - once again | Forum: Photoshop
scuse me I only said that I don´t really have the patience to paint in painter or to try to simulate any old master..... I do believe that it is foolish to try to compare what someone did five hundred years a go to what we can do today, that is not to say that I do not look at da vince, raphael or michelangelo and go bananas trying to figure out how did they do it, however I do not work with natural media, I did some acrylics a long, long time a go in a galaxy far, far far away.... I do believe, and work trying to figure out my way into this programs and to create something with I´m happy with, and also that my clients are happy with it..... still I wonder if any of those master could look at what we creat today, what would they think? provided they could understand what is being done..... There are a lot of people out there that have mastered lightining and so on both in 3d and also in hand drawing.... Still isn´t this the path of an artist? to do the best you can with what you have? to find yourself and than express yourself trough colors, lights, shadows? U know I look at my work and I look at other peoples work and I do see how much I can grow, and change and so on.
Vintorix, do not let your self go with what people say, let your self go with what you have, that will garantee that u don´t get and ulcer like I did.... hahahahhahahaha - joking ok?
Anyhow Painter is a great program, and I don´t find it hard to use it, I found hard to get colors right, light, contrast..... but yes, there´s a learning curve, as such to master the computer, the instrument....
oh well, I always talk too much....
hope that helps

Thread: After Effects Question | Forum: Photoshop
to make the stroke around the text .... if you created the text in ae, then when you click on text it should appear a box with text option on your right side, however if you create a text in ai or ps than you can import it to ae and work with it as an image, if you do have the master package than just use the dynamic link.....
hope that helps...

Thread: Watercolour paint effect - once again | Forum: Photoshop
well, if you want to paint the image, all of it I mean, perhaps painter would be better since you can simulate the use of watercolors, it takes more patience doh.... however it s a beautifull rendering and well done work, I don´t think I´d have the patience for both ways doh....
anyhow cheers
