Thanks guys. I downloded the G2 James so I'll guess I'll try the clothing with him. I was just seeing if I should purchase the male/female clothing bundle and save a few bucks but I guess I will wait for the female clothes until they release the G2 females. No need for me really to update my copy of Poser and I'm also waiting for them to fix bugs and such... :) (not that I know of any) thanks all FernandoThread: New Business clothes compatible with my poser 6 characters? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Thread: Alternative C4 Upgrade ideas. | Forum: Carrara
Guys, you don't HAVE to upgrade if you don't want, really ... : ) If you already have Amapi and Transposer then you don't really have to buy it. You can fake blury reflections and motion blur with Photoshop or AfterEffects... : ) How many independent designers own more than 1-2 computers to make the network rendering work ..? If I could go back on time I would have skipped and not upgraded version 2 The visible light cone antialiasing bug was fixed in 3 as well as the GI render (it was too slow for real work on version 2). Now the GI render and HDRI are great! The animations paths seem to work now (after 4 versions...) but I've given up on them a long time ago and use another software for animations. In my opinion, Good Carrara versions have been 1 - 3 (and I'm guessing 5) But that's just me. I use it mostly for stills. By the way, the EPS import is great also ( to make 3d extrude logos). One of the easiest to use in the 3d world (and I tried a lot...) and the bevel option in 3 is a nice addition. So for me version 3 is more than enough for my needs. Just my opinion, again (and my personal needs). Good luck all fjv
Thread: Tax return - Carrara 3???? | Forum: Carrara
Global Illuminations speed has been VASTLY improved in version 3. I found it unusable on version 2 (because of render times) but now I use it all the time. That alone is worth the upgrade on my opinion. It makes the most simple images look great. And you could also expriment with HDRI. It is a very solid upgrade. Good luck : ) fjv

Great work Robert. A question for you. How did you do the pseudo isometric base of the model? Was that done in Carrara or was it composited in Photoshop? Thanks fjv
Thread: Why is my motion path duplicating when I try to adjust it? | Forum: Carrara
Attached Link: http://www.padd.com/market/product/product.php?prod=3dtk
I've had that problem (duplicating motion paths) lot of times... That's why I stopped using Carrara's animation features but for the most simple things... I'm afraid that Carrara's animation tools (specially motion paths) s..k (sorry...) I think they are aware of it and the next version of Carrara will have better animation tools (or at least that's what they've told) I still love Carrara and use it for stills but for animations I would recomennd you to buy the $99.00 3DToolkit 2.5. It's a very good productions quality program. Its a very fast Phong renderer I belive, No real reflections (which you can fake with maps) , transparency yes. It's the little brother of Universe ( Kind of like Carrara and Carrara Basics) You can export models from Carrara and import them there. Or vise versa (hope I spelled that right.. ) It has a NURBS modeler that is somewhat different that Carrara's but It complements it quite nicely. I specially like the boolean operation and beveling options.... I go back and forth between the two and like that workflow a lot. In the animation departement you have Bezier motion paths that work Beautifuly (like you would expect Carrara's to do) F. Curves editor, deformers, etc etc Also check the other DV garage's products. They usually work with the Toolkit but almost all of them can be used with other 3d products. Really can't go wrong with that 99 investment if you are serious about animation.. :) Hope I could help you a little with a different opinion Good luck with that fjvThread: WIP Old man. | Forum: Carrara
