Aside from a lot of wasted screen space on both sides of the page when viewing on a widescreen monitior, a minor problem is that when my cursor hovers over an item it no longer automatically opens drop-down menus like it use to do before the change, but now it require a mouse click to do the same thing. Like I said, a minor nit to pick.

Correct, it doesn't happen with .jpg.
Do you mean instead of just importing a picture for the background I instead use the Material Room to place it in on a one-sided square and use that as the background? That makes sense.
It's all coming back to me now.

Thanks for the marketplace search tips. That'd did the trick.

Having bought them all at different times here at Rendo, is there an easier way to redownload them given the task of otherrwise having to search through multiple purchases in my account here? Can they instead be downloaded from your website?

Thread: I Like IDL, but... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"May we ask why you wish to render with IDL for animation?"
Simply because using IDL seems so much easier to set up than the regular Poser lighting method in order to get the effects I find visually appealing. After struggling with Poser's lights ever since Poser 4, I really liked IDL. Too bad I apparently won't be able to use it unless I want to endure extremely long render times hobbling along on one thread on my new multithread-capable system. Kind of like having a Ferrari but not being able to get it out of first gear.
Sigh...
Reality sets in, but life goes on.
I'll play around with the Poser Render settings and try some things in my video editing program (Premiere CS6) to see if that reduces some of the surface flickering to an acceptable level, but I really think I'm back to the world of standard Poser light rigs again.
Thanks to every one for paitently helping me learn some things.

OK. I'm learning some things. Thank you all.
Might there be a way to still do a multi-threaed render using IDL via some settings manipulation (like a lower IC value?) and not get the flickering (I get it it on some, but not all surfaces), or are these two things just mutually exclusive?

Thread: How can I check that SR 2.1 has successfully been installed in Poser pro 2012 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I installed SR2.1 to my Poser Pro 2012 (or so I thought), but the version number showing is 9.0.2.21561. Is this correct for the SR2.1 patched version?

Thread: Question for all you animators that use Poser | Forum: Animation
Ditto to that!
One of the main reasons I just spent a ton of $$$ getting a new 64-bit, high-speed multicore system was to do animations in Poser.
Guess I shouldn't have trusted SM so much to deliver.

But doesn't limiting the number of render threads to just one negate the render-speed benefits of of the newer multi-core processors?

Thread: Poser Pro 2012 not finding files all of a sudden | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Too bad Hogsoft doesn't update his "Correct Reference Pro" utility to work in Poser 2012. Everyone of my 60 Gigs of Poser 5 - 7 library files were processed in CR before ever being installed and I never once had a problem with Poser being able to find anything.
The utility "Dr. Poser" is supposed to be able to ID problem references even in Poser 2012, but it doesn't offer the ability to have them corrected like CR Pro did.
