Some as yet unnamed group has agreed to buy 17% of the company's outstanding stock.
Don't know who -- or why -- just yet, (aside from the fact that their show of confidence made them over a million bucks in less than 48 hours), but the traders found it to be an encouraging sign, as indicated by the resulting sudden leap in the OTC price per share.
(I'm no investment mogul, so dat bees about all I dun gots from the filing & press release.)

The game is afoot! Something is going on at SMSI.
On Wednesday, some investor group cut a deal to buy 6.8 million shares of SMSI at $0.816, in a private placement deal, -- and the over-the-counter price jumped back to $1.00 by Friday, -- making them a million bucks before the deal was even closed.
To see the summary of the SEC filing, search:
Smith Micro Software, Inc. (the "Company") entered into a common stock purchase agreement
Thread: Is the Poser user base shrinking? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Haven't logged-in in quite a long time, and pleased to see some ol'timers I still recognize!
Popped by to see if there was an chatter about the news of SMSI being "delisted" from NASDAQ yesterday -- & this seemed the most appropriate thread.
Other than the press release from NASDAQ, I didn't spot any public statements from Smith Micro, so was curious if there had been any prior discussion in here of the consequences, e.g. rumors of pending sale?
Thread: Parameter Dials Say "EMPTY-" | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do seem to spend an inordinate amout of time routinely unhiding, unlocking, and resetting limits on figures... all the while still wondering why anyone really goes to the trouble to hide, limit and lock all those settings.

Ack! Misread an thought you were referring to the "mobius" who was a modeler, texture artist, and early posting member here (or PFO) from back in '99!

Whoosh - the sound of a concept flying right over my head - but will tuck it away for future reference. Nice detective work Cage.

No real clue here Cage, -- but if it is just in preview, now kinda curious if SreeD vs OpenGL might make a diff, or, if it perhaps jumps more when using one of the cams that is also parented to the fig.

When I tried making one, shortening the legs Y scale worked reasonably well, but my problem was shortening the arms X scale - because the joints get all wonky, (or perhaps "voionky"?) ...& I've never set-up or played with joint rotations. How tough would it be to realign them to bend correctly with new X-scaled arms?
Thread: Total brain-fart here: what factors can cause a dial to lock-up? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well that 'splains why I'd not run into it before... it was an old file I'd reopened, so not real sure what (pose file?) brought it into my scene. Still somewhat astounded that I’d never seen, nor even heard “animation layers” mentioned here before.
Was there ever actually any way to see, or modify, the Layered data in P6 - without resorting to hacking the text by hand?
... and I know you can't read all of'em, these days, so thanks again for checking-out my dilemma Ockham!
... and thanks again to CaptainMARC for snapping to the whole "layer" thing as the hidden source of my problem, -- and a belated welcome to the forum.
(Sheesh... been hanging around here since day-one, and still have to get clued-in -- by a member that just joined!! DOOH! What a charmingly helpful neighborhood this still is!)

Well joy-joy! Appears you were both right …I think.
Poked into the bowels of the file and found an unusual couple of lines of code in the .pz3 referring to “layer kfrm”, with the offending Hip:Y-Trans value set to Constant. (was all set to Spline in the normal Keyframe window).
Now, I have absolutely no idea what an “animation layer” actually is – does that function even exist in P6? -- I did do a quick RTFM, but didn’t see the term mentioned. Will have to see if the good Dr. has a tute.
But, anyhoo, I whacked that part of code from the .pz3, & it’s working like a champ again.
Thanks to you both for the cooperative head-scratching. New turf for me & it was driving me crazy(er).

... and 'Memorize All' on an unlocked frame, and then 'Restore All' on a locked frame does not unlock the dial, but neither does the reverse process lock the dial when a locked frame is memorized and applied to a previously unlocked frame.
However, saving the entire animation as a pose file WILL apply the lock-up to a previously unlocked figure. But, then subsequently deleting all paramater settings in the range of this applied pose does not undo the lock-up created by applying the pose.
DOOH! Feelin' like a nubie here! What am I forgetting?
Thread: SMSI stock drops 10% following news of layoffs. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
They've had pretty significant product releases this quarter in both their networking apps, as well as our toys. With versions being readied for the shelves, I suspect they had staffed-up during final development & debugging.
Best wishes to those in the 20%. Hopefully Poser's lower profile will keep our friends off the radar.
(btw - SMSI leaped-up with the rest of the market today, back to $1.25 )

"But you can ask all you want about my 1984-86 load up of Apple stock any day of the week however...:)"
Did some work for Apple about that time (I think it was about $23.00? then) ... looked close, but DIDN"T bite. DOOH!
(I did get to meet Jobs, & got a nice LISA II out of the deal though! Still around here somewhere.)
