Interesting. Well, good luck with that idea. ^_^ Looking over your list of "blacklisted" models again... ;)
Thread: Help with installing DAZ V3 into Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
RuntimeLibrariesCharacter is where your DAZ folder should be. Inside the Character folder. If it's not there, then you need to put it there.
But to end the endless discussion of where you put the files, why don't you just tell us? Word for word, what's the path to your file? Message edited on: 09/22/2005 08:11
Thread: Help with installing DAZ V3 into Poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There's your problem right there. The DAZ installer puts the file into "libraries", not "libraies".
To check which Runtime you are using, just keep clicking the folder up icon until you cannot. Then select a runtime from there.
The choice is "Poser 5" for anything Poser 5 and above.

Yeah. 24:00 is midnight. Midnight April 2 is before 6:00 am April 2 no matter where in the world you are.

I'm a material zone user and quite often fix material zones that I beta-test before they're released to you, the users. Texture maps have their place, and I respect those that do that kind of thing, but textures have no real place in my field of work. Materials is where it's at, so I fully support the idea of having material zone options.

Neat trick, knew that one. I even moved the Library to my other monitor. What I want to do is decrease the HUGE SIZE on the folder icons, since they take up a lot of space to show a folder.
Thread: Poser crashing on XP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Back when Diablo (by Blizzard) came out, my Mom swore up and down that it was the cause of many problems on the computer. The name of the game itself inspired that I think. The only thing Diablo did to our Windows 95 computer was keep it's icon on the cd drive. Weird error, but nonetheless took the blame for many a computer problems. I fixed them of course, without removing Diablo, but never bothered about the icon thing. Fast-foward to present day. Just on the desktop alone I count... oh... 17 games, 3 modelers, 2 virtual disk managers, 4 multimedia players and a few other odds and ends. All of them co-existing with one another, some even cooperating with each other. The only two reasons to uninstall anything is for A) space or B) doesn't work [the way you want it to]. Poser runs just fine for me. Has in the past, does now and I suspect will in the future. And I'm not intending on uninstalling anything, matter of fact I'm planning on adding even more software soon.

I don't know what this "infection" is about, but Poser 5 ran virtually flawlessly for me for more than a year now. I used it alot. Poser 6 installs in it's own directory, unless you tell it otherwise. Even if you install it over another Poser version I think the content it writes is different anyways, so bare minimum if anything gets overwritten.

Let's face it folks, the systems in place on this site are beginning to really show their age now. Everything from the TOS to the categorization to the actual system itself.
Renderosity needs an overhaul (especially the forum section!) and that's what needs to be worked on.
@ Reply #61: Wow, pulling out the old software with that DeluxePaint reference aren't ya? ^_^

I have 1 gig of RAM now, but that's soon to change. Until mid-March, I ran more than 1 gig of RAM (1.25 gigs) and always have been on Windows XP Professional since it came out basically. It really does sound like your hard drive is in serious need of repair, though. A thorough Scan Disk and Defragmentation may be in order. Your hard drive, despite how old it is, may be trying to take a nose dive on ya. That would be bad. Another thing to check is to make sure all of your files are intact. Updated drivers and all that jazz. Especially since you're getting Poser 6 in the mail any day now. Windows XP handles memory beautifully, I've never had a memory problem with the system.

Athlon. Cheaper, faster, better.
1 gig will do ya, but there's a huge difference between 1 and 2 gigs. Other than the blazingly obvious more RAM that you can do more stuff with.
128 meg video card is more than enough for Poser's little appetite. 256 will get you into better gaming, not better Posering.
SLI won't help you with Poser I don't think.
AGP, unless of course you're looking beyond Poser (gaming again)
If you're looking for power, then obviously you will want to go with the Athlon and 2 gigs RAM. 2x256 meg videocards on a PCI Express. SLI all the way with that (hence the 2). Then you'll be able to run EverQuest II in almost all it's glory.
