And what are we going to do? :) AOE: Uh... Don't like Poser (though know it:). Can create something in 3DMax, pre&post edit in Photoshop, Premiere, Flash, Piranesi... P.S. Don't have much free time though :((

Most materials i used were raytraced, with 'Strauss', 'Metal' and some 'Blin' shading. All lights were also raytraced (standard MAX raytracer). No any background images or alpha channels were used - the whole scene was made in 3D. Of course some part of detail actually goes to special textures (with bump and displace mapping), which were created or altered by me. To achieve the effect of "coldness" i used fog and ambient light with same color values. Anti-alias filter was Catmull-Rom (for sharper edges). Only two standard MAX post effects were used - glow and blur (filtered image was additive blended with original, only bright areas were filtered). No other plugins. I'm really glad you liked it. :) As you mentioned it - i decided to remake previous scene (create better lightning, materials and so on). I'll post it in 2-3 days or so. Looking forward for your work!!! P.S. Is it your's ICQ, i'm trying to authorize? ;)

Yeh, i agree with your poin of view. But to mention - Carrara/Raydream and the same are not "proffesional" software packages, so expecting great results of there exploiting is not right. But a lot of Maya, 3DMax, Lightwave, SI and so on users in fact are Poser dependent, that what is very sad. About lights on the wall - yep, you are right, i made too much glow on them and positioned omni sources a lit'bit incorrectly... And about shadows - in most parts of the image they are correct, cause there are no "invisible" light sources in the room, only one behined the camera (aka another explosion). There are about 16 lights in scene with different strength and attenuation options (upper lights are hardly seen from this camera). The main difficulty is that floor lights have wide profile and can't be rendered correctly with build in 3DMax shaders (i'm looking for plugin, that can render "object based" lights, rather than "point" lights). I wanted to render this scene with Pixar's Renderman 3.9 engine, but don't have MaxMan software, to export rib format from 3DMax :( (only own SoftMan and MTOR, but i'm not as good with SoftImage and Maya) Best Regards! Looking forward for you work!

No Transformers, Mechwarriors and so on. Only your original characters! And try not to make them VERY big :) (about human size + -)

Hereby i start the series of FULLY HANDMADE challenges - with NO use of ANY stock models, like Poser and e.t.c.!!! Here goes first Challenge! Let's go in advance... First challenge must be easy. Bio objects are more difficult to modell, so they'll go later. Right now - what about robots and cyborgs? Don't think it's too easy to modell - try to make a Real scene, with catched motion, good lightning, materials (maybe raytraced) and so on. NO STOCK MODELLS ALLOWED! Umm, what about war cyborgs and robots? They are attacking each other and humans...

Most of my works took about 2-4 days to complete. My dream is to become a game developer, but it's a difficult way to go in Russia, i'm working on it...

I'm sorry, but i don't yet have home cite :( (work... work... work...) Maybe later i'll find some time...

Yes, of course :) I like to catch motion in my works. The static scenes are too dull... ;) If you want, i can post another scene with Poser model :)
