there is a cheap filter called topaz remask 2 which I find quite useful. You can download a free trial off topaz's website

Hello, I regularly work between cs3 and cs4 and I never experienced this problem. PSD should be absolutely fine, are you sure the file is not corrupted? You could also try saving as pdf or tiff (with all the layers, not as a copy) it should work fine.

Hello Panko, I think it would be much easier for you to use a camera and take pictures of various kinds of skin and then import them into PS for editing.
